And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
Beloved, wonder not at the burning which is among you, which is for your trial, as if some strange thing befell you: But as ye partake of the sufferings of Christ,
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about thro' the villages teaching.
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Christ who called you by his grace to another gospel, Which is not another;
And they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
Jesus hearing these things, marvelled at him, and turning, said to the people that followed him, I say to you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
And he went in and sat down to table. But the Pharisee seeing it, marvelled, that he had not first washed before dinner. And the Lord said to him,
And seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and understanding that they were illiterate and uneducated men, they marvelled, and took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
And Pilate marvelled that he was dead already: and calling to him the centurion, he asked, If he had been any while dead?
Therefore it is no great thing, if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose ends shall be according to their works.
Marvel not at this: for the time is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with a woman. Yet none said, What seekest thou? Or, Why talkest thou with her?

And they were all amazed and glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to-day.
And Peter seeing it, answered the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? Or, why do ye fix your eyes on us, as if by our own power or piety, we had made this man to walk?
(Behold I come as a thief. Happy is he that watcheth and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.)
And they knew him, that this was he who had sat for alms at the beautiful gate of the temple, and were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had befallen him.
