Therefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, even so death passed upon all men, in that all had sinned.
Are ye not much better than they? And which of you by taking thought can add to his age the smallest measure?
Who know not what shall be on the morrow; for what is your life? It is a vapour that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away:
And I heard a voice out of heaven, saying to me, Write: From henceforth happy are the dead who die in the Lord: Yea (saith the Spirit) that they may rest from their labours. Their works follow them.
Thus he spake, and after that he saith to them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go to awake him. Then the disciples said, Lord, if he sleep, he will recover. Jesus spake of his death, but they thought he had spoken of the natural rest in sleep.
And coming in, he saith to them, Why make ye this ado and weep? The damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
Now David, having served the will of God in his generation, fell asleep, and was added to his fathers, and saw corruption.
of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left to the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent them that are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we be ever with the Lord.
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For death is the wages of sin; but eternal life is the gift of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus saith to him, Thou hast said. Moreover I say to you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right-hand of power, and coming upon the clouds of heaven.
And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man, sitting on the right-hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud, with power and great glory.
behold two men, in white apparel, stood by them, Who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing into heaven? This Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, as ye have seen him going into heaven.
So Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, will appear the second time, without sin, to them that look for him, unto salvation.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, neither the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
But of that day and hour knoweth no one, no, not the angels that are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
Therefore be ye also ready: for at an hour ye think not, the Son of man cometh.
Therefore be ye also ready; for the Son of man cometh in an hour when ye think not.
(Behold I come as a thief. Happy is he that watcheth and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.)
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father, with his angels; and then shall he render to every man according to his work.
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory. And all nations shall be gathered before him, and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats.
I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, ye may be also.
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall every one have praise from God.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we be ever with the Lord.
And when the chief shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
And now, beloved children, abide in him, that when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
Watch ye therefore; for ye know not when the master of the house cometh; at evening, or at midnight, or at cock-crowing, or in the morning:
Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, that the times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, And he may send to you Jesus Christ,
I charge thee, before God, who quickneth all things, and Jesus Christ, who witnessed a good confession before Pontius Pilate, That thou keep the commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, Which in his times the blessed and only Potentate will shew,
Seeing then all these things are dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Marvel not at this: for the time is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth, they that have done good, to the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation.
Having hope in God, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and of the unjust, which they themselves also expect.
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me, tho' he die, yet shall he live;
Knowing that he who raised up the Lord Jesus, will also raise us up by Jesus, and present us with you.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
And shall come forth, they that have done good, to the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment; but the righteous into life everlasting.
So also is the resurrection of the dead: it is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown an animal body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is an animal body, and there is a spiritual body.
But this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.read more.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal put on immortality.
And as it is appointed for men once to die, and after this the judgment:
speaking evil of you, Who shall give account to him that is ready judge the living and the dead.
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat thereon, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things that were written in the books, according to their works.
For neither doth the Father judge any one, but hath given all judgment to the Son:
And he commanded us, to proclaim to the people, and to testify, that it is he who is ordained by God the Judge of the living and the dead.
Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world righteously, by the man whom he hath ordained, whereof he hath given assurance to all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
And he that liveth and was dead, and behold I am alive for evermore, and have the keys of death and of Hades.
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him; the word which I have spoken, that shall judge him at the last day.
And to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire, taking vengeance on them who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But the heavens and the earth that are now, are by his word kept in store reserved unto fire, against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Verily, verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and cometh not into condemnation, but is passed from death to life.
He that believeth on him, is not condemned; but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Therefore there is now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath freed me from the law of sin and death.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive according to what he hath done in the body, whether good or evil.
