Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also hath received you, to the glory of God.

I went up by revelation, and explained to them the gospel, which I preach among the Gentiles; but severally to those of eminence, lest by any means I should run, or should have run in vain.

If there be then any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies; Fulfil ye my joy, that ye think the same thing, having the same love, being of one soul, of one mind. Do nothing through strife or vain-glory, but in lowliness of mind, esteem each the others better than themselves.read more.
Look not every one at his own things, but every one also at the things of others.

And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that faith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, verily in him the love of God is perfected: hereby we know that we are in him.read more.
He that saith, he abideth in him, ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

I exhort you therefore, brethren, by the tender mercies of God, to present your bodies unto God, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable, which is your reasonable service.

Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also ye received, and wherein ye stand: By which also ye are saved, if ye retain what I preached to you, unless ye have believed in vain.

In whom ye likewise believed, after ye had heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom having believed, ye were also sealed by that Holy Spirit of promise,

of which ye heard before in the word of truth, Which is come to you, as also it is in all the world, and bringeth forth fruit, as it hath done likewise among you, from the day ye heard it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, even because when ye received the word of God from us, ye received it, not as the word of men, but (as it is in truth) the word of God, who likewise effectually worketh in you that believe.

Because knowing God, they did not glorify him as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their reasonings, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image in the likeness of corruptible man, and of birds, and of four-footed creatures and reptiles.

Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. What man is there of you, who if his son ask bread, will give him a stone?read more.
And if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven, give good things to them that ask him?

because he is his friend, yet, because of his importunity, he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say to you, Ask, and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone?read more.
Or if he ask a fish, for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he give him a scorpion? If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

And he said to them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go to him at midnight and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves: For a friend of mine on his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him: And he from within shall answer, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed: I cannot rise and give thee?read more.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified thro' the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done for you.

Hitherto ye have asked nothing in my name: ask (and ye shall receive) that your joy may be full.

And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted; forgiving one another; as God also for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. But I say unto you, that ye resist not the evil man: but whosoever shall smite thee on the right-cheek, turn to him the other also; And if a man will sue thee and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.read more.
And whosoever shall compel thee to go with him one mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

And to him that smiteth thee on the cheek, offer also the other: and him that taketh away thy cloke, forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh thee, and of him that taketh away thy goods, ask them not again.

Dearly beloved, revenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thy enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink; for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head. Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.

And no man was able to answer him a word; neither durst any from that day question him any more.

And they could not take hold of his words before the people; and marvelling at his answer, they held their peace.

And he answered him to never a word, so that the governour marvelled greatly.
