'Deceit' in the Bible
You will destroy those who speak lies. The LORD abhors the person of bloodshed and deceit.
How blessed is the person against whom the LORD does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
You give your mouth free reign for evil, and your tongue devises deceit.
May the arrogant become ashamed, because they have subverted me with deceit; as for me, I will meditate on your precepts.

Why has this people turned away? Why does Jerusalem continue in apostasy? They hold on to deceit and refuse to repent.
Their tongue is a deadly arrow that speaks deceit. With his mouth a person says, "Peace,' to his friend, but inwardly he sets a trap for him.
How long will this go on? Is there anything in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy from the deceit that is in their hearts?
"Now as to the prophet, if through deceit he delivers a message, I the LORD have deceived that prophet! I'll reach out in opposition to him and exterminate him from among my people Israel.
Through his skill he'll cause deceit to prosper under his leadership. He'll promote himself and will destroy many while they are secure. He'll take a stand against the Prince of Princes, yet he'll be crushed without human help.
"Ephraim surrounds me with lies, and the house of Israel surrounds me with deceit, But Judah still rules with God, and remains faithful, along with the godly ones."
At the same time, I'll punish every idol worshipper, especially those who are filling their master's temple with violence and deceit.
