Be friends with thine adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him; least the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison: verily, I say unto thee, thou shalt not come out from thence, till thou hast paid the very last farthing.

Now to him that worketh the reward is not reckoned as a favor, but as a debt: but to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. As David also describeth the blessedness of the man to whom: God imputeth righteousness without works, saying, "Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered: blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputeth not sin." Now is this blessedness upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? for we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. How then was it accounted to him? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had in uncircumcision: that he might be the father of all that believe though not circumcised, that righteousness may be imputed to them also:
and therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written on his account only, that it was imputed to him: but for our sakes also, to him it will be imputed, as we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead:
And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God.
For He hath made Him, who knew no sin, to be a sin-offering for us, that in Him we might be made righteous before God.
and this righteousness of God is by faith in Jesus Christ unto all and upon all believers; for there is no difference;
But ye are of Him in Christ Jesus, who from God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
not having my own righteousness which is of the law, but that which is by the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: that I may know Him,
Not that I desire a gift, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
He that receiveth you, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth Him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet as a prophet, shall have a prophet's reward: and he that receiveth a righteous man as such, shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whosoever shall give to one of these mean persons but a cup of cold water to drink, as my disciple, I assure you, he shall not lose his reward.
Then will the king say to them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was famishing, and ye gave me food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; I was naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye took care of me; I was in prison, and ye visited me.
If ye love only them that love you, what thanks are due to you? for even the wicked love those that love them: and if ye do good offices to them that do good to you, what thanks are due to you? for even wicked men do the same. For we must all appear before the tribunal of Christ, that every one may receive for the things done in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it were good or bad.
with good-will, as serving the Lord rather than men: knowing that whatever good any one doth, he shall receive the reward of it from the Lord, whether He be a slave or free.
