'Feared' in the Bible

And while desiring to kill him, he feared the crowd, because they held him for a prophet.

But the centurion, and they who were with him on guard over Jesus, seeing the earthquake and the things that took place, feared greatly, saying, Truly this man was Son of God.

And they feared with great fear, and said one to another, Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

for Herod feared John knowing that he was a just and holy man, and kept him safe; and having heard him, did many things, and heard him gladly.

But they understood not the saying, and feared to ask him.

And the chief priests and the scribes heard it, and they sought how they might destroy him; for they feared him, because all the crowd were astonished at his doctrine.

but should we say, Of men they feared the people; for all held of John that he was truly a prophet.

And they sought to lay hold of him, and they feared the crowd; for they knew that he had spoken the parable of them. And they left him and went away.

His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if any one confessed him to be the Christ, he should be excommunicated from the synagogue.

Then the captain, having gone with the officers, brought them, not with violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
