'First fruit' in the Bible
Reuben, my first-born, thou, My vigour, and the first-fruit of my strength, - Pre-eminence of elevation and pre-eminence of power:
the firstfruit of thy corn thy new wine and thine oil and the first of the fleece of thy flock, shalt thou give unto him.

If, moreover, the first fruit is holy, the lump shall be also; and, if the root is holy, the branches shall be also.
