As Christ also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust (that He might introduce us to God) being indeed put to death in the flesh, but raised to life by the Spirit:

And calling the people and his disciples to Him, He said unto them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me:
And He said unto them all, if any one is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me:
For the Son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many.
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer be inslaved to sin:
And He died for all, that those who live might no longer live to themselves, but to Him who died for them and rose again.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain: and if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor: so that I know not what to chuse; for I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ, which is much preferable:read more.

which were once gain to me, I counted loss for Christ. Look not every one to his own interests only, but every one also to the concerns of others. Let the same mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
If I then your Lord and Master have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye also should do as I have done to you.
In this we know his love, that He laid down his life for us: and we should be ready to lay down our lives for the brethren.
We love Him, because He first loved us. If any one say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for how can he, that loveth not his brother, whom he hath seen, love God whom he hath not seen? And we have this commandment from Him, that he, who loveth God, should love his brother also.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, fidelity, meekness, temperance: against such things there is no law. And they, that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with it's passions and desires.read more.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be vain-glorious, provoking one another, envying one another.
be tenderly affected with brotherly love to each other, in honor preferring one another:
If all things be lawful for me, yet all things are not expedient: all things may be lawful for me, but all things do not edify. Let no one seek his own only, but every one another's benefit.
Now we that are strong, ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves: but let every one of us please our neighbor for his good, to his edification.
But see that this liberty of yours be not by any means a stumbling-block to the weak.
bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any one has a complaint against any: even as Christ hath forgiven you, so also do ye.
to be rich in good works, to be ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
Do nothing through strife or vain-glory, but in lowliness of mind each esteeming others better than themselves.
Be alike affected to each other: not aiming at high things, but accommodating yourselves to persons of low rank. Be not wise in your own conceit.
Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if any one thinketh that he is something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
and with long-suffering forbear one another in love,
submitting yourselves to each other in the fear of God.
Finally, my beloved, be unanimous, be sympathizing, love as brethren, be compassionate, be courteous:
Likewise ye younger, be subject to the elder; and all of you behaving with due submission one to another, be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, but sheweth favor to the humble.
But ye shall not do so: but let the greatest among you be as the younger; and he that presides as he that serveth.
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only abuse not this liberty for an occasion to indulge the flesh, but by mutual love serve one another.
as every one hath received a gift, imparting it to each other, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

But Jesus, knowing what passed, said to them, Why do ye give the woman uneasiness? for she has done a good office to me: (seeing ye have the poor always with you, but me ye have not always:) for in pouring this ointment on my body, she has embalmed me for my burial. Verily I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached, in the whole world, what she hath done shall also be spoken of for a memorial of her.
