'First' in the Bible

First of all, I thank my God through Jesus the Messiah for all of you, because the news about your faith is being reported throughout the world.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God's power for the salvation of everyone who believes, of the Jew first and of the Greek as well.

There will be suffering and anguish for every human being who practices doing evil, for Jews first and for Greeks as well.

There are all kinds of advantages! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the utterances of God.

Again I ask, "Did Israel not understand?" Moses was the first to say, "I will make you jealous by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that doesn't understand."

If the first part of the dough is holy, so is the whole batch. If the root is holy, so are the branches.
