'Little' in the Bible
Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in their boat mending their nets.
and kept begging Him, “My little daughter is at death’s door. Come and lay Your hands on her so she can get well and live.”
Then He took the child by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).
Instead, immediately after hearing about Him, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit came and fell at His feet.
“Whoever welcomes one little child such as this in My name welcomes Me. And whoever welcomes Me does not welcome Me, but Him who sent Me.”
“But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Me—it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.
Some people were bringing little children to Him so He might touch them, but His disciples rebuked them.
When Jesus saw it, He was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me. Don’t stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
I assure you: Whoever does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
And a poor widow came and dropped in two tiny coins worth very little.
Then He went a little farther, fell to the ground, and began to pray that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him.
But again he denied it. After a little while those standing there said to Peter again, “You certainly are one of them, since you’re also a Galilean!”
