'Sovereign' in the Bible

I will thank the Lord for his justice; I will sing praises to the sovereign Lord!

I will be happy and rejoice in you! I will sing praises to you, O sovereign One!

Show forth your gracious love, save those who take refuge in you from those who rebel against your sovereign power.

because they had rebelled against God's commands, and rejected the instructions of the sovereign king.

O sovereign Lord, intervene on my behalf for the sake of your reputation! Because your loyal love is good, deliver me!
