'Everyone' in the Bible
Therefore a lion from the forest will slay them,A wolf of the deserts will destroy them,A leopard is watching their cities.Everyone who goes out of them will be torn in pieces,Because their transgressions are many,Their apostasies are numerous.
“For from the least of them even to the greatest of them,Everyone is greedy for gain,And from the prophet even to the priestEveryone deals falsely.
“I have listened and heard,They have spoken what is not right;No man repented of his wickedness,Saying, ‘What have I done?’Everyone turned to his course,Like a horse charging into the battle.
“Therefore I will give their wives to others,Their fields to new owners;Because from the least even to the greatestEveryone is greedy for gain;From the prophet even to the priestEveryone practices deceit.
“Let everyone be on guard against his neighbor,And do not trust any brother;Because every brother deals craftily,And every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.
“Everyone deceives his neighborAnd does not speak the truth,They have taught their tongue to speak lies;They weary themselves committing iniquity.
Now hear the word of the Lord, O you women,And let your ear receive the word of His mouth;Teach your daughters wailing,And everyone her neighbor a dirge.
Woe to me, my mother, that you have borne meAs a man of strife and a man of contention to all the land!I have not lent, nor have men lent money to me,Yet everyone curses me.
To make their land a desolation,An object of perpetual hissing;Everyone who passes by it will be astonishedAnd shake his head.
and say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Behold I am about to bring a calamity upon this place, at which the ears of everyone that hears of it will tingle.
I will also make this city a desolation and an object of hissing; everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss because of all its disasters.
O Lord, You have deceived me and I was deceived;You have overcome me and prevailed.I have become a laughingstock all day long;Everyone mocks me.
“They keep saying to those who despise Me,‘The Lord has said, “You will have peace”’;And as for everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart,They say, ‘Calamity will not come upon you.’
saying, ‘Turn now everyone from his evil way and from the evil of your deeds, and dwell on the land which the Lord has given to you and your forefathers forever and ever;
Perhaps they will listen and everyone will turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the calamity which I am planning to do to them because of the evil of their deeds.’
For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes.”
But everyone will die for his own iniquity; each man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be set on edge.
great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, giving to everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds;
Perhaps their supplication will come before the Lord, and everyone will turn from his evil way, for great is the anger and the wrath that the Lord has pronounced against this people.”
“Edom will become an object of horror; everyone who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss at all its wounds.
“Because of the indignation of the Lord she will not be inhabited,But she will be completely desolate;Everyone who passes by Babylon will be horrifiedAnd will hiss because of all her wounds.
