“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near.

Then He said to them: “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any of the parables?

And He said: “How can we illustrate the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use to describe it?

And He did not speak to them without a parable. Privately, however, He would explain everything to His own disciples.

When He went into the house away from the crowd, the disciples asked Him about the parable.

Because they knew He had said this parable against them, they were looking for a way to arrest Him, but they were afraid of the crowd. So they left Him and went away.

“Learn this parable from the fig tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near.

He also told them a parable: “No one tears a patch from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. Otherwise, not only will he tear the new, but also the piece from the new garment will not match the old.

As a large crowd was gathering, and people were flocking to Him from every town, He said in a parable:
