'Wickedness' in the Bible
Recognizing their wickedness, Jesus asked, "Why are you testing me, you hypocrites?
adultery, greed, wickedness, cheating, shameless lust, envy, slander, arrogance, and foolishness.
Everyone who practices wickedness hates the light and does not come to the light, so that his actions may not be exposed.
So repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, your heart's intent may be forgiven you.
For I see that you're being poisoned by bitterness and you're a prisoner of wickedness!"
For God's wrath is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of those who in their wickedness suppress the truth.
They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, quarreling, deceit, and viciousness. They are gossips,
but wrath and fury for those who in their selfish pride refuse to believe the truth and practice wickedness instead.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. That is why God, your God, anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness."
Therefore, rid yourselves of everything impure and every expression of wickedness, and with a gentle spirit welcome the word planted in you that can save your souls.
