For the Lord promotes justice, and never abandons his faithful followers. They are permanently secure, but the children of evil men are wiped out.


This is what the Lord says: "At the time I decide to show my favor, I will respond to you; in the day of deliverance I will help you; I will protect you and make you a covenant mediator for people, to rebuild the land and to reassign the desolate property.

David placed garrisons in the territory of the Arameans of Damascus; the Arameans became David's subjects and brought tribute. The Lord protected David wherever he campaigned.

The Lord commanded us to obey all these statutes and to revere him so that it may always go well for us and he may preserve us, as he has to this day.

For the Lord our God took us and our fathers out of slavery in the land of Egypt and performed these awesome miracles before our very eyes. He continually protected us as we traveled and when we passed through nations.



Through all that they suffered, he suffered too. The messenger sent from his very presence delivered them. In his love and mercy he protected them; he lifted them up and carried them throughout ancient times.



You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt and how I lifted you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.


They will lift you up in their hands, so you will not slip and fall on a stone.

You give me your protective shield; your right hand supports me; your willingness to help enables me to prevail.

and in the desert, where you saw him carrying you along like a man carries his son. This he did everywhere you went until you came to this very place."

for evil men will lose their power, but the Lord sustains the godly.

As for me, you uphold me because of my integrity; you allow me permanent access to your presence.


As for you, the one who lives in the shelter of the sovereign One, and resides in the protective shadow of the mighty king --

The Beloved about Her Lover: Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.

Who prepares prey for the raven, when its young cry out to God and wander about for lack of food?







"Bring the entire tithe into the storehouse so that there may be food in my temple. Test me in this matter," says the Lord who rules over all, "to see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until there is no room for it all.


The threshing floors are full of grain; the vats overflow with fresh wine and olive oil.



Now to the one who is able to keep you from falling, and to cause you to stand, rejoicing, without blemish before his glorious presence,





The Lord takes notice of us, he will bless -- he will bless the family of Israel, he will bless the family of Aaron.


In fact, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are more valuable than many sparrows.


Each one will be handed over to the sword; their corpses will be eaten by jackals.

How great is your favor, which you store up for your loyal followers! In plain sight of everyone you bestow it on those who take shelter in you.

Since ancient times no one has heard or perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who intervenes for those who wait for him.

The Lord God appointed a little plant and caused it to grow up over Jonah to be a shade over his head to rescue him from his misery. Now Jonah was very delighted about the little plant.







But as it is, they aspire to a better land, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.




At the time for the banquet he sent his slave to tell those who had been invited, 'Come, because everything is now ready.'

that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples:


Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that hovers over its young, so the Lord spread out his wings and took him, he lifted him up on his pinions.

When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and will cover you with my hand while I pass by.


The jar of flour was never empty and the jug of oil never ran out, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah.

The ravens would bring him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he would drink from the stream.





For you are a protector for the poor, a protector for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the rainstorm, a shade from the heat. Though the breath of tyrants is like a winter rainstorm,

Each of them will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from a rainstorm; like streams of water in a dry region and like the shade of a large cliff in a parched land.




All along the way I, the Lord your God, have blessed your every effort. I have been attentive to your travels through this great wasteland. These forty years I have been with you; you have lacked for nothing.'"






Again he sent other slaves, saying, 'Tell those who have been invited, "Look! The feast I have prepared for you is ready. My oxen and fattened cattle have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet."'


Sure enough, the next morning, at the time of the morning sacrifice, water came flowing down from Edom and filled the land.


He looked and right there by his head was a cake baking on hot coals and a jug of water. He ate and drank and then slept some more.


I commission you as my spokesman; I cover you with the palm of my hand, to establish the sky and to found the earth, to say to Zion, 'You are my people.'"


When the men with a skin disease reached the edge of the camp, they entered a tent and had a meal. They also took some silver, gold, and clothes and went and hid it all. Then they went back and entered another tent. They looted it and went and hid what they had taken.


When the containers were full, she said to one of her sons, "Bring me another container." But he answered her, "There are no more." Then the olive oil stopped flowing.


Look! Israel's protector does not sleep or slumber!
