And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

And Jesus said to them, "Come follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men."

As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office; and he said to him, "Follow me." And he rose and followed him.

As he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, "Follow me." So he rose and followed him.

He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

"If any one comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

But Jesus said to him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."

He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.

Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."

Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "You lack one thing; go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."

When Jesus heard it, he said to him, "One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."

For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, 'This man began to build, and was not able to finish.'read more.
Or what king, going to make war against another king, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? And if not, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks terms of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not give up all that he has cannot be my disciple.

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples.

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.

If anyone does not love the Lordlet him be accursed. Come, O Lord!

Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not in the way of eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.

Now by this we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And this is his commandment: that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he has commanded us. Now those who keep his commandments abide in him, and he in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

These are the ones who have not been defiled with women, for they have kept themselves chaste. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They have been purchased from among men as first fruits to God and to the Lamb.
