And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ he does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although your body is dead because of sin, your spirit is alive because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit who dwells in you.

But I have written very boldly to you on some points, so as to remind you again, because of the grace that was given me from God, to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one bodywhether Jews or Greeks, slaves or freeand we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

Now it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us; he has put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called,

Abstain from every form of evil.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Maintain good conduct among the Gentiles, so that in case they speak against you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

I am speaking in human terms, because of the weakness of your flesh. They have eyes full of adultery, that never cease from sin; they entice unstable souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! These are springs without water and mists driven by a storm; for them the blackest darkness has been reserved. For speaking out arrogant words of vanity, they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error.

What good is it, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has no works? Can such faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?read more.

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. And those whom he predestined, he also called; those whom he called, he also justified; and those whom he justified, he also glorified.

Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another, for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

And although you were once alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, yet he has now reconciled you in his fleshly body through death, in order to present you before him holy and blameless and beyond reproach

Finally, brethren, farewell. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

We proclaim him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.

Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by him in peace, spotless and blameless.
