Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.read more.
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to deatheven death on a cross.
For this reason my Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from my Father."
When we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Why, one will hardly die for a righteous manthough perhaps for a good man one will dare even to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
For the love of Christ controls us, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died.

We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.
And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
You were taught, with regard to your former manner of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful lusts;
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I do not know. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better;read more.

Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.read more.
If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; outdo one another in showing honor.
"All things are lawful," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful," but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.
bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord forgave you, so you also must forgive.
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous and ready to share,
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.
Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,
Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble in spirit.

As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of God's varied grace.

Now when Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, a woman came up to him with an alabaster flask of very expensive perfume, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table. But when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, "Why this waste?read more.
For this perfume might have been sold for a high price and given to the poor." But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. For in pouring this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her."
And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly. And she broke the flask and poured it over his head. But there were some who said to themselves indignantly, "Why was this ointment wasted? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor." And they criticized her sharply.read more.
But Jesus said, "Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you will, you can do good to them; but you will not always have me. She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint my body for burial. And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her."
