When the disciples, James and John, saw this, they said, "Lord, do you want us to bid fire come down from heaven and consume them?"
Then He said to His disciples, "The time will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
And He called the Twelve to Him and sent them out two by two, and gave them power over the foul spirits.
Now when the hour came, He took His place at the table, with the apostles about Him.
Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you too." They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.
He said to them, "Come! Follow me, and I will make you fishermen for catching men."
John said to Him, "Teacher, we saw a man using your name to drive out demons, and we tried to stop him, for he was not one of our followers."
Still another man said, "I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say 'Goodbye' to the homefolks."
Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathaniel of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples of Jesus, were all together.
He was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. So they woke Him up and said to Him, "Teacher, is it no concern to you that we are going down?"

I most solemnly say to you, when you were young, you used to put on your own belt and go where you pleased, but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will put a belt on you and you will go where you do not please to go." He said this to point out the sort of death by which Peter was to glorify God. So after He had said this, He said to Peter, "Keep on following me!"
