Therefore this trouble has come to us." Then Reuben answered them, saying, "Did I not say to you, do not sin against the boy? But you did not listen, and now, behold, his blood has been sought." Now they did not know that Joseph understood, for the interpreter [was] between them.
{In your distress} when all these things have found you in the {latter days}, then you will return to Yahweh your God, and you will listen to his voice.
Jephthah said to the elders, "Did you not shun me and drive me out from the house of my father? Why do you come to me now when you have trouble?"

For there will be great distress on the earth and wrath against this people, and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. "And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity from the noise of the sea and [its] surging,
I have said these [things] to you so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have affliction, but have courage! I have conquered the world."
strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging [them] to continue in the faith and [saying], "Through many persecutions it is necessary [for] us to enter into the kingdom of God."
And not only [this], but we also boast in our afflictions, [because we] know that affliction produces patient endurance,
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? [Will] affliction or distress or persecution or hunger or lack of sufficient clothing or danger or the sword?
rejoicing in hope, enduring in affliction, being devoted to prayer,
Therefore, I consider this to be good because of the impending distress, that [it is] good for a man to be thus.
Great [is] my confidence toward you; great [is] my boasting on your behalf; I am filled with encouragement; I am overflowing with joy in all our affliction.
for indeed when we were with you we told you beforehand that we were about to be afflicted, just as indeed it happened, and you know.
because of this, brothers, we have been comforted because of you in all our distress and affliction through your faith,
so that we ourselves boast in you in the churches of God about your patient endurance and faith in all your persecutions and the afflictions that you are enduring,
