For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimony, blasphemies.
For from within, out of the heart of men, come forth evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, covetousness, iniquities, deceit, wantonness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.
For we know that the Law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, a slave sold to sin. For I know not what I do. For I do not what I would, but I do what I hate.
Because though they knew God, they did not glorify him as God, nor were they thankful to him; but became perverse in their reasonings, and their senseless minds were darkened;
For all have sinned, and fail of obtaining the glory which cometh from God;
but the Scripture shut up all under sin, that the blessing promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
So then, my beloved, as ye always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
Be ye therefore perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.
And he said to him, Why dost thou ask me concerning what is good? There is but one who is good. But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
I speak in a way common among men on account of the weakness of your flesh. For as ye once yielded your members as slaves to impurity and to iniquity, in order to commit iniquity, so now yield your members as bondmen to righteousness in order to become holy.
Having then these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all pollution of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
But do thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
even for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge, and to knowledge selfcontrol, and to selfcontrol endurance, and to endurance godliness, and to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, be diligent that ye may be found without spot and blameless before him in peace,
What then shall we say? Is the Law sin? God forbid! But I should not have known sin, except by the Law; for I should not have known sinful desire, unless the Law had said, "Thou shalt not covet."
But we did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that have been given to us by the grace of God; which things we also speak, not in words taught by mans wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, connecting what is spiritual l with what is spiritual. But the unspiritual man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot know them; because they are spiritually discerned.
If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments; and I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever; the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot receive, because it doth not behold it, nor know it; ye know it, because it abideth with you, and will be in you.
For what the Law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God hath done, who on account of sin sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and passed sentence of condemnation on sin in the flesh; so that what is required by the Law might be accomplished in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For they who are according to the flesh have their mind on the things of the flesh; but they who are according to the Spirit, on the things of the Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance; against such things as these there is no law.
But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, that God chose you from the beginning to salvation in sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth;
chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you.
Seeing that his Divine power hath given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness;
I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit; for apart from me ye can do nothing.
No temptation hath come upon you, but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted beyond what ye are able to endure, but will with the temptation furnish also the way to escape, that ye may be able to endure it.
Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil;
for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
for God gave us not the spirit of cowardice, but of power, and of love, and of admonition.
For in that he himself hath suffered, being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
but he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble."
Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from the body of this death? Thanks be to God, [who hath delivered me] through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then, I, the same person, with the mind serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
who will also make you steadfast to the end, so that ye may be without blame in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
and that ye put on the new man, who was created according to God in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
and have put on the new man, who is renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him;
being confident of this very thing, that he who began in you a good work, will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus;
in order that he may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before God, our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones.
Beloved, now are we children of God, and it hath not yet been manifested what we shall be. We know that, when it shall be manifested, we shall be like him; because we shall see him as he is.
For he determined beforehand that those whom he foreknew should be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
But we all with unveiled face beholding in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, as by the Lord, the Spirit.
But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
The Son of man will send forth his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all the stumblingblocks, and those who do iniquity, and will cast them into the furnace of fire; there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then will the righteous shine forth as the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear.
But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and the polluted with abominations, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.
Without are dogs, and sorcerers, and fornicators, and murderers, and idolaters, and whoever loveth and practiseth falsehood.
