Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would first go unto you and prepare beforehand your blessing, of which ye had given notice before that the same might be ready as a blessing, and not as of covetousness.

That the slave of the Lord should not be contentious, but be meek unto everyone, apt to teach, patient,

looking diligently that no one deviate from the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up impede you, and thereby many be defiled,

But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, boast not and do not be liars against the truth. This wisdom is not that which descends from above, but is earthly, natural, diabolical.

Complain not one against another, brethren, that ye not be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door.

Lovingly be hospitable one to another without murmuring.

A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city, and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

He that covers a transgression seeks love, but he that repeats a matter separates very friends.

The discretion of a man defers his anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

Not that I speak in respect of want, for I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content.

But piety with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. So that, sustenance and covering, let us be content with this.read more.
For those that desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
