The man who endures under trial is blessed. For when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life that God promised to those who love him.

In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Since he has suffered and was tested in every way; he is able to help those who are being tested.

We do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our infirmities (weaknesses). He was tested in all things like ourselves. Yet he was without sin! Let us approach the throne of grace (loving-kindness) with confidence, that we may receive mercy, and find grace for help in time of need.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials. Know that the testing of your faith produces patience (endurance).

You are of God, my little children. You have overcome them because he that is in you is greater than he that is in the world.

Those who act wickedly against the covenant will be perverted by flatteries. However, the people who know their God will be strong and act effectively.

My son, take my words to heart and treasure my commandments within you. Pay close attention to wisdom, and let your [mind and] heart (inner being) reach for discernment.

Forgive us our sins. For we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And keep us from temptation.

But you, O man of God, run from these things. Pursue (set your heart on) righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness. Fight the good fight of the faith! Lay hold on everlasting life! You were called and confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

Be subject to God! Resist [Satan] the Devil and he will flee from you.

Watch and pray continually that you do not enter into temptation!

To avoid temptation watch and pray. The spirit truly is willing but the flesh is weak.

When he arrived he said to them: Pray that you do not enter into temptation.

If your hand or your foot is a cause of stumbling cut it off. Get rid of it. It is better for you to go into life with the loss of a hand or a foot than, having two hands or two feet, to be destroyed by eternal fire. If your eye causes you stumbling, take it out and throw it away. It is better for you to go into life with one eye than, having two eyes, to be destroyed in ever-burning fires in the Valley of Hinnom (Greek: Gehenna).

Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent for a time. That way you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. Then come together again, that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

You have not yet resisted by shedding blood in your striving against sin.

You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, avoid being carried away with the error of the wicked and falling from your own steadfastness.

Brothers, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right. But you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

My son, if sinners tempt you do not consent. If they say: Come with us. Let us lie in wait to kill someone. Let us ambush the innocent without cause. Let us swallow them alive and whole just as the grave does, and just as the dead go into the pit.read more.
We will find precious material possessions and we fill our houses with plunder. Throw in with us. Let us all have one purse. My son, do not walk in the way with them. Withhold your food from their path!

Let no sin rule in your mortal body, that you should obey the lustful desires. Also do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness. Present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness for God. Sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.
