I remember the days of old. I meditate (think deeply) (intensely study) on all your activities. I muse on the work of your hands. I stretch out my hands to you for I long for you, like a parched land.

I want to know him and the power of his resurrection. I want to know the fellowship of his sufferings and become conformed to his death. I wish to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Brothers, I could not yet have obtained it. But one thing I do, I forget the things that are behind, and stretch forward to the things that are ahead. I press on toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

They who live according to flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh. They who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. The mind of sinful flesh (fleshly thought) means death; but the mind influenced by the Spirit gives life and peace. This is because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God. Those influenced by the sinful flesh cannot please God. But you are not in flesh but in Spirit, if indeed God's Spirit dwells in you. If any one does not have the Spirit of Christ he does not belong to him.

So then, brothers we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to flesh (human nature), for if you live according to flesh, you are about to die. If by the Spirit, you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. These are in opposition to one another that you may not do the things that you would.

Do not get drunk with wine, for that is a public act of violence, but be filled with the Spirit.

We all, with unveiled face, behold as in a mirror the glory of God and are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, exactly as from God's Spirit.

Those he first recognized, he ordained in advance that they be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that when he is revealed we will be like him. We will see him just as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him is purified. He is pure.

All who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of bondage again causing fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Father, Father! The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness (mildness), self-control; against such there is no law.

Every good tree gives righteous fruit. The bad tree gives evil fruit.

I am the vine and you are the branches. He that remains with me, and I with him, the same bears much fruit. You can do nothing apart from me. If a man does not remain with me, he is removed as a branch, and withers. They gather them and throw them into the fire where they are burned (destroyed) (consumed). Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and do not have love, I have become like loud sounding brass, or a clashing cymbal. If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all secrets and all knowledge, and though I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is not jealous. Love does not brag and is not arrogant (proud).

As God's chosen, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness (humility), meekness (mildness), and long-suffering (patience).

Brothers, I was not able to speak to you as to spiritual men, but as fleshly men, as babes (infants) in Christ. I fed you milk and not solid food. You were not able to receive it. You are not able now! You are still fleshly! There is envy, strife, and divisions among you. Do you not walk as ordinary men?

Brothers, do not be like children in understanding. When it comes to evil be innocent children but in your thinking be mature adults.

Everyone who drinks milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to mature people. It belongs to those who by reason of use have their senses trained to know the difference between good and evil.

Brothers, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right. But you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too.

Accept the man who has a weak faith, but not to entertain doubtful thinking. For one believes that he may eat all things. Another who is weak eats only vegetables. Let the one eating not look down on the one not eating. Let the one who does not eat judge him that eats, for God has received him.

Be careful that this freedom does not become a stumbling block to those who are weak. If any man with knowledge sees you having a meal from an idol's temple, will the conscience of the weak one be emboldened (encouraged) to eat food offered to idols? And because of your knowledge the weak brother will perish. Christ died for him!read more.
When you sin against your brothers and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. If food makes my brother stumble I will eat no food at all so I do not make my brother stumble.

It is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, and it has not entered into the heart of man, the things God prepared for those who love him. (Isaiah 64:4) But God revealed them to us by his Spirit. For the Spirit investigates (searches) all things, yes even the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, except the mental disposition that is in man? Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is from God. This is so we might know the things that are freely given to us from God. We speak these things, not in the words that man's wisdom teaches. But we speak them with the words the Holy Spirit teaches comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.

He that is spiritual judges all things, yet no man judges him. Who has understood the mind of Jehovah, or has instructed him, as his counselor? (Isaiah 40:13) But we do have the mind (purpose) (feelings) (thoughts) (understanding) of Christ.

instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present age (world) (period of time).

I request (urge) (implore) you brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Do not be conformed to this world (religious, social, political, and economic arrangement). But be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? That one (Greek: hos he ho which, that one) is in you. You received it from God. You are not your own. You are bought with a price! Therefore glorify God in your body.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have impaled the flesh with its passions and lusts.

If you have been raised together with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Think about the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.

If you obey my commandments you will remain in my love. I have obeyed my Father's commandments and remain in his love.

He is the propitiation (Greek: hilasmos: atonement, compensation) for our sins. Not for ours only, but also for the whole world. We know that we know him, when we obey his commandments. He who says: I know him, and does not obey his commandments is a liar! The truth is not in him.read more.
Whoever obeys his Word; the love of God is made perfect (complete) (mature) in him. By this we know that we are in union with him. He that says he lives in union with him should walk as he walked.

This is how we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

You obstinate men who are uncircumcised in heart and ears. You always resist the Holy Spirit as your fathers did.

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in which (Greek: en hos) (in which) (Greek: hos, he ho) (whereby) (which) you were sealed to the day of release by ransom.

Do not quench the Spirit.

This Book of the Law will not depart out of your mouth. You must meditate (intensely study) (think deeply) on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. Then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Now they know that all things you gave me are from you.

From childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to make you wise to salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus. God inspired all Scripture! It is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. (Greek: theopneustos: God-breathed) Thus the man of God may be completely equipped for every good work.

He went to the mountain to pray and he continued all night in prayer to God.

Early in the morning, long before daybreak, Jesus awoke and went into the wilderness to pray.

They observed the confidence of Peter and John. Yet they thought they were uneducated (not formally educated) and ordinary men. They were amazed and recognized them as having been with Jesus.

Let us consider one another to encourage love and good works:

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you with all wisdom. Teach and admonish one another with psalms, praises to God, and spiritual songs. Sing with gratitude in your hearts to God.

You know how we dealt with each one of you. It was like a father with his own children, exhorting you, and encouraging and showing you. You should walk worthily of God, who called you into his own kingdom and glory.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials. Know that the testing of your faith produces patience (endurance). Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be mature, complete, and lacking in nothing.

Not only that, but we also rejoice in our tribulations knowing that tribulation produces endurance. Tribulation produces an approved condition and an approved condition produces hope.

You greatly rejoice in this, though you have been grieved with various trials for a little while. The proof of your faith is more precious than gold that perishes. Though it is tested by fire, it may be found in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Enoch walked with God. Then he was no more, because God took (moved) him away.

This is the ACCOUNT OF NOAH. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. He walked with God.

Moses was a very humble (meek) man. He was more humble than anyone else on earth.

Your kingdom will not last. Jehovah searched for a man after his own heart. Jehovah appointed him as ruler of his people. This is because you did not follow the command of Jehovah.

When he removed him, he made David their king. He testified about him when he said: I found David the son of Jesse is a man after my own heart. He will do my will.
