Wherefore, remember that ye, the gentiles in flesh, who are called uncircumcision by that which is called circumcision in flesh made by hand, that at that time ye were apart from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world. For He is our peace, Who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of the partition, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments expressed in decrees, that He might make the two one new man in Himself, making peace, and might reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby; and, coming, He proclaimed the Gospel of peace to you who were afar off, and peace to those who were near; because through Him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, [and shall cleave to his wife], and the two shall become one flesh; so that they are no more two, but one flesh.
Or know ye not that he who is united to the harlot is one body? For, "the two", He saith, "shall be one flesh";
The wife has not authority over her own body, but the husband; and, in like manner also, the husband has not authority over his own body, but the wife.
For this cause, will a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. This mystery is great; but I am speaking of Christ and of the assembly.
He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bride-groom who stands and hears him greatly rejoices because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy, therefore, has been made full.
Let us rejoice, and exult, and give the glory to Him; because the marriage of the Lamb came, and His wife made herself ready."
