'Dead' in the Bible
This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms
And although you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ -- by grace you are saved! --
For everything made evident is light, and for this reason it says: "Awake, O sleeper! Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you!"
and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things.

Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write this: 'Blessed are the dead, those who die in the Lord from this moment on!'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "so they can rest from their hard work, because their deeds will follow them."
(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished.) This is the first resurrection.
And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then books were opened, and another book was opened -- the book of life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.
The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.
