And a voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, [my] Chosen One. Listen to him!"
And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, saying, "Teacher, I beg you to look with concern on my son, because he is my only [son]!
So Jesus answered [and] said, "O unbelieving and perverted generation! {How long} will I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here!"

For in this way God loved the world, so that he gave his one and only Son, in order that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world in order that he should judge the world, but in order that the world should be saved through him.

So Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, the Son can do nothing from himself except what he sees the Father doing. For whatever that one does, these [things] also the Son does likewise.
For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything that he himself is doing. And greater works than these he will show him, so that you will be astonished.
For just as the Father raises the dead and makes [them] alive, thus also the Son makes alive whomever he wishes.
For the Father does not judge anyone, but he has given all judgment to the Son,
in order that all [people] will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
"Truly, truly I say to you, that an hour is coming--and now is [here]--when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones who hear will live.

Do not work for the food that perishes, but the food that remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has set his seal on this one."
