Let those who rejoice at my misfortunebe disgraced and humiliated;let those who exalt themselves over mebe clothed with shame and reproach.

You make us retreat from the foe,and those who hate ushave taken plunder for themselves.

Their graves are their eternal homes,their homes from generation to generation,though they have named estates after themselves.

They defiled themselves by their actionsand prostituted themselves by their deeds.

but they set an ambush to kill themselves;they attack their own lives.

When the righteous triumph,there is great rejoicing,but when the wicked come to power,people hide themselves.

I said to myself, “This happens concerning people, so that God may test them and they may see for themselves that they are like animals.”

Look, they are like stubble;fire burns them up.They cannot deliver themselvesfrom the power of the flame.This is not a coal for warming themselves,or a fire to sit beside!

Their webs cannot become clothing,and they cannot cover themselves with their works.Their works are sinful works,and violent acts are in their hands.
