Song Of Moses

11 "Give ear, O heavens, and let me speak; And let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

11 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

11 Pay attention, heavens, and I will speak; listen, earth, to the words of my mouth.

11 Hear, heavens, and I will speak! Listen, earth, to the words of my mouth!

11 Give ear, O heavens, and I [Moses] will speak; and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

22 "Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As the droplets on the fresh grass And as the showers on the herb.

22 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

22 Let my teaching fall like rain and my word settle like dew, like gentle rain on new grass and showers on tender plants.

22 May my instructions descend like rain and may my words flow like dew, as light rain upon the grass, and as showers upon new plants.

22 My message shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the light rain upon the tender grass, and as the showers upon the herb.

33 "For I proclaim the name of the LORD; Ascribe greatness to our God!

33 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

33 For I will proclaim the Lord's name. Declare the greatness of our God!

33 For I'll proclaim the name of our LORD. Ascribe greatness to our God!

33 For I will proclaim the name [and presence] of the Lord. Concede and ascribe greatness to our God.

44 "The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.

44 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

44 The Rock-His work is perfect; all His ways are entirely just. A faithful God, without prejudice, He is righteous and true.

44 Flawless is the work of the Rock, because all his ways are just. A faithful God never unjust righteous and upright is he.

44 He is the Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are law and justice. A God of faithfulness without breach or deviation, just and right is He.

55 "They have acted corruptly toward Him, They are not His children, because of their defect; But are a perverse and crooked generation.

55 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

55 His people have acted corruptly toward Him; this is their defect-they are not His children but a devious and crooked generation.

55 But those who are not his children acted corruptly against him; they are a defective and perverted generation.

55 They [Israel] have spoiled themselves. They are not sons to Him, and that is their blemish -- "a perverse and crooked generation!

66 "Do you thus repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is not He your Father who has bought you? He has made you and established you.

66 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

66 Is this how you repay the Lord, you foolish and senseless people? Isn't He your Father and Creator? Didn't He make you and sustain you?

66 This is not the way to repay the LORD, is it, you foolish and witless people? Is he not your father, who bought you, formed you, and established you?

66 Do you thus repay the Lord, you foolish and senseless people? Is not He your Father Who acquired you for His own, Who made and established you [as a nation]?

77 "Remember the days of old, Consider the years of all generations. Ask your father, and he will inform you, Your elders, and they will tell you.

77 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

77 Remember the days of old; consider the years long past. Ask your father, and he will tell you, your elders, and they will teach you.

77 Remember the days of old, reflect on the years of previous generations. Ask your father, and he'll tell you; your elders will inform you.

77 Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations. Ask your father and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you.

88 "When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, When He separated the sons of man, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the sons of Israel.

88 When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

88 When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance and divided the human race, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the people of Israel.

88 When the Most High gave nations as their inheritance, when he separated the human race, he set boundaries for the people according to the number of the children of God.

88 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when He separated the children of men, He set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the Israelites.

99 "For the LORD'S portion is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance.

99 For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

99 But the Lord's portion is His people, Jacob, His own inheritance.

99 For the LORD's portion is his people; Jacob is his allotted portion.

99 For the Lord's portion is His people; Jacob (Israel) is the lot of His inheritance.

1010 "He found him in a desert land, And in the howling waste of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of His eye.

1010 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

1010 He found him in a desolate land, in a barren, howling wilderness; He surrounded him, cared for him, and guarded him as the pupil of His eye.

1010 The LORD found him in a desert land, in a barren, eerie wilderness. He surrounded, cared for, and guarded him as the pupil of his eye.

1010 He found him in a desert land, in the howling void of the wilderness; He kept circling around him, He scanned him [penetratingly], He kept him as the pupil of His eye.

1111 "Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, That hovers over its young, He spread His wings and caught them, He carried them on His pinions.

1111 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

1111 He watches over His nest like an eagle and hovers over His young; He spreads His wings, catches him, and lifts him up on His pinions.

1111 Like an eagle stirs its nest, hovering near its young, spreading out his wings to take him and carry him on his pinions,

1111 As an eagle that stirs up her nest, that flutters over her young, He spread abroad His wings and He took them, He bore them on His pinions.

1212 "The LORD alone guided him, And there was no foreign god with him.

1212 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

1212 The Lord alone led him, with no help from a foreign god.

1212 the LORD alone guided him. There was no foreign god with him.

1212 So the Lord alone led him; there was no foreign god with Him.

1313 "He made him ride on the high places of the earth, And he ate the produce of the field; And He made him suck honey from the rock, And oil from the flinty rock,

1313 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

1313 He made him ride on the heights of the land and eat the produce of the field. He nourished him with honey from the rock and oil from flintlike rock,

1313 He mounted him on a high place above the earth, feeding him from the produce of the field. He nourished him with honey from the rock and with oil from the flint rock,

1313 He made Israel ride on the high places of the earth, and he ate the increase of the field; and He made him suck honey out of the rock and oil out of the flinty rock,

1414 Curds of cows, and milk of the flock, With fat of lambs, And rams, the breed of Bashan, and goats, With the finest of the wheat-- And of the blood of grapes you drank wine.

1414 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

1414 cream from the herd and milk from the flock, with the fat of lambs, rams from Bashan, and goats, with the choicest grains of wheat; you drank wine from the finest grapes.

1414 with curds from cattle and with milk from sheep, with the fat of lambs, with rams from Bashan, with the fat of goats, with the finest of wheat and from the juice of grapes you drank wine.

1414 Butter and curds of the herd and milk of the flock, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and he-goats, with the finest of the wheat; and you drank wine of the blood of the grape.

Israel's Rebellion

1515 "But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked-- You are grown fat, thick, and sleek-- Then he forsook God who made him, And scorned the Rock of his salvation.

1515 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

1515 Then Jeshurun became fat and rebelled- you became fat, bloated, and gorged. He abandoned the God who made him and scorned the Rock of his salvation.

1515 Jacob dined until satisfied; Jeshurun grew fat and kicked. He grew fat, coarse, and gross, so that he abandoned the God who made him and spurned the Rock that was his salvation.

1515 But Jeshurun (Israel) grew fat and kicked. You became fat, you grew thick, you were gorged and sleek! Then he forsook God Who made him and forsook and despised the Rock of his salvation.

1616 "They made Him jealous with strange gods; With abominations they provoked Him to anger.

1616 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

1616 They provoked His jealousy with foreign gods; they enraged Him with detestable practices.

1616 They provoked him to jealousy over foreigners and to anger over detestable things.

1616 They provoked Him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations they provoked Him to anger.

1717 "They sacrificed to demons who were not God, To gods whom they have not known, New gods who came lately, Whom your fathers did not dread.

1717 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

1717 They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods they had not known, new gods that had just arrived, which your fathers did not fear.

1717 They sacrificed to demons not to the real God gods whom they didn't know, new neighbors who had recently appeared, whom your ancestors never feared.

1717 They sacrificed to demons, not to God -- "to gods whom they knew not, to new gods lately come up, whom your fathers never knew or feared.

1818 "You neglected the Rock who begot you, And forgot the God who gave you birth.

1818 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

1818 You ignored the Rock who gave you birth; you forgot the God who brought you forth.

1818 You neglected the Rock that fathered you; you abandoned God, who was awaiting your birth.

1818 Of the Rock Who bore you you were unmindful; you forgot the God Who travailed in your birth.

A Word Of Judgment

1919 "The LORD saw this, and spurned them Because of the provocation of His sons and daughters.

1919 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

1919 When the Lord saw [this], He despised [them], provoked [to anger] by His sons and daughters.

1919 The LORD saw it and became jealous, provoked by his sons and daughters.

1919 And the Lord saw it and He spurned and rejected them, out of indignation with His sons and His daughters.

2020 "Then He said, 'I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end shall be; For they are a perverse generation, Sons in whom is no faithfulness.

2020 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

2020 He said: "I will hide My face from them; I will see what will become of them, for they are a perverse generation- unfaithful children.

2020 So he said: "Let me hide my face from them. I will observe what their end will be, because they are a perverted generation, children within whom there is no loyalty.

2020 And He said, I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.

2121 'They have made Me jealous with what is not God; They have provoked Me to anger with their idols So I will make them jealous with those who are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation,

2121 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

2121 They have provoked My jealousy with [their] so-called gods; they have enraged Me with their worthless idols. So I will provoke their jealousy with an inferior people; I will enrage them with a foolish nation.

2121 They provoked me to jealousy over non-gods, and to be angry over their vanity. Now I'll provoke them to jealousy over a non-people; and over a foolish nation I'll provoke them to anger.

2121 They have moved Me to jealousy with what is not God; they have angered Me with their idols. So I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people; I will anger them with a foolish nation.

2222 For a fire is kindled in My anger, And burns to the lowest part of Sheol, And consumes the earth with its yield, And sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.

2222 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

2222 For fire has been kindled because of My anger and burns to the depths of Sheol; it devours the land and its produce, and scorches the foundations of the mountains.

2222 For a fire breaks out in my anger burning to the deepest part of the afterlife, consuming the earth and its produce and igniting the foundations of the mountains.

2222 For a fire is kindled by My anger, and it burns to the depths of Sheol, devours the earth with its increase, and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.

2323 'I will heap misfortunes on them; I will use My arrows on them.

2323 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.

2323 I will pile disasters on them; I will use up My arrows against them.

2323 I'll bury them in misfortunes and bring them to an end with my arrows.

2323 And I will heap evils upon them; I will spend My arrows upon them.

2424 'They will be wasted by famine, and consumed by plague And bitter destruction; And the teeth of beasts I will send upon them, With the venom of crawling things of the dust.

2424 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

2424 They will be weak from hunger, ravaged by pestilence and bitter plague; I will unleash on them wild beasts with fangs, as well as venomous snakes that slither in the dust.

2424 Emaciated from famine, feverish from plague, and destroyed by bitterness, I'll send fanged beasts against them, along with poisonous snakes that glide through the dust.

2424 They shall be wasted with hunger and devoured with burning heat and poisonous pestilence; and the teeth of beasts will I send against them, with the poison of crawling things of the dust.

2525 'Outside the sword will bereave, And inside terror-- Both young man and virgin, The nursling with the man of gray hair.

2525 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.

2525 Outside, the sword will take their children, and inside, there will be terror; the young man and the virgin [will be killed], the infant and the gray-haired man.

2525 Outside, the sword will cause bereavement; within, there will be terror for the young man and virgin alike, also for the nursing infant and the aged man."

2525 From without the sword shall bereave, and in the chambers shall be terror, destroying both young man and virgin, the sucking child with the man of gray hairs.

The Weakness Of Other Gods

2626 'I would have said, "I will cut them to pieces, I will remove the memory of them from men,"

2626 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

2626 I would have said: I will cut them to pieces and blot out the memory of them from mankind,

2626 "I said, "I will scatter them, erasing their memory from the human race,

2626 I said, I would scatter them afar and I would have made the remembrance of them to cease from among men,

2727 Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy, That their adversaries would misjudge, That they would say, "Our hand is triumphant, And the LORD has not done all this."'

2727 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.

2727 if I had not feared insult from the enemy, [or feared] that these foes might misunderstand and say: Our own hand has prevailed; it wasn't the Lord who did all this."

2727 if it weren't for dreading the taunting of their enemies otherwise, their adversary might misinterpret and say, "Our power is great. It isn't the LORD who made all of this happen."'"

2727 Had I not feared the provocation of the foe, lest their enemies misconstrue it and lest they should say, Our own hand has prevailed; all this was not the work of the Lord.

2828 "For they are a nation lacking in counsel, And there is no understanding in them.

2828 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.

2828 Israel is a nation lacking sense with no understanding at all.

2828 They are a nation devoid of purpose and without insight.

2828 For they are a nation void of counsel, and there is no understanding in them.

2929 "Would that they were wise, that they understood this, That they would discern their future!

2929 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

2929 If only they were wise, they would figure it out; they would understand their fate.

2929 O, that they were wise to understand this and consider their future!

2929 O that they were wise and would see through this [present triumph] to their ultimate fate!

3030 "How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Unless their Rock had sold them, And the LORD had given them up?

3030 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

3030 How could one man pursue a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the Lord had given them up?

3030 How can one person chase a thousand of them and two put a myriad to flight, unless their Rock delivers them and the LORD gives them up?

3030 How could one have chased a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had delivered them up?

3131 "Indeed their rock is not like our Rock, Even our enemies themselves judge this.

3131 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

3131 But their "rock" is not like our Rock; even our enemies concede.

3131 For their rock isn't like our Rock, as even our enemies admit.

3131 For their rock is not like our Rock, even our enemies themselves judge this.

3232 "For their vine is from the vine of Sodom, And from the fields of Gomorrah; Their grapes are grapes of poison, Their clusters, bitter.

3232 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

3232 For their vine is from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are poisonous; their clusters are bitter.

3232 Instead, their vine is from the vines of Sodom and the vineyards of Gomorrah. Their grapes are poisonous, their clusters bitter.

3232 For their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of [poisonous] gall, their clusters are bitter.

3333 "Their wine is the venom of serpents, And the deadly poison of cobras.

3333 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

3333 Their wine is serpents' venom, the deadly poison of cobras.

3333 Their wine is the venom of serpents, a poisonous cobra.

3333 Their wine is the [furious] venom of serpents, and the pitiless poison of vipers.

3434 'Is it not laid up in store with Me, Sealed up in My treasuries?

3434 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?

3434 "Is it not stored up with Me, sealed up in My vaults?

3434 "Is this not kept in reserve, sealed up with me in my treasury?

3434 Is not this laid up in store with Me, sealed up in My treasuries?

3535 'Vengeance is Mine, and retribution, In due time their foot will slip; For the day of their calamity is near, And the impending things are hastening upon them.'

3535 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

3535 Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay. In time their foot will slip, for their day of disaster is near, and their doom is coming quickly."

3535 To me belong vengeance and recompense. In due time their feet will slip, because their time of calamity is near and the things prepared for them draw near.

3535 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense, in the time when their foot shall slide; for the day of their disaster is at hand and their doom comes speedily.

3636 "For the LORD will vindicate His people, And will have compassion on His servants, When He sees that their strength is gone, And there is none remaining, bond or free.

3636 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

3636 The Lord will indeed vindicate His people and have compassion on His servants when He sees that [their] strength is gone and no one is left-slave or free.

3636 For the LORD will vindicate his people and bring comfort to his servants, because he will observe that their power has waned, when neither prisoner nor free person remain.

3636 For the Lord will revoke sentence for His people and relent for His servants' sake when He sees that their power is gone and none remains, whether bond or free.

3737 "And He will say, 'Where are their gods, The rock in which they sought refuge?

3737 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,

3737 He will say: "Where are their gods, the 'rock' they found refuge in?

3737 "He will say, "Where are their gods, the rock in which they took refuge?

3737 And He will say, Where are their gods, the rock in which they took refuge,

3838 'Who ate the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you, Let them be your hiding place!

3838 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.

3838 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up and help you; let it be a shelter for you.

3838 Who ate the fat of their offerings and drank the wine that was their drink offering? Let them rise and help you and be your hiding place!'

3838 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you, let them be your protection!

The Vindication Of The Lord

3939 'See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.

3939 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

3939 See now that I alone am He; there is no God but Me. I bring death and I give life; I wound and I heal. No one can rescue [anyone] from My hand.

3939 "Look now! I AM, and there is no other god besides me. I myself cause death and I sustain life; I wound severely and I also heal; from my power no one can deliver.

3939 See now that I, I am He, and there is no god beside Me; I kill and I make alive, I wound and I heal, and there is none who can deliver out of My hand.

4040 'Indeed, I lift up My hand to heaven, And say, as I live forever,

4040 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.

4040 I raise My hand to heaven and declare: As surely as I live forever,

4040 "I solemnly swear to heaven I say "As certainly as I'm alive and living forever,

4040 For I lift up My hand to heaven and swear, As I live forever,

4141 If I sharpen My flashing sword, And My hand takes hold on justice, I will render vengeance on My adversaries, And I will repay those who hate Me.

4141 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

4141 when I sharpen My flashing sword, and My hand takes hold of judgment, I will take vengeance on My adversaries and repay those who hate Me.

4141 I'll whet my shining sword, with my hands in firm grasp of judgment. I'll show vengeance on my adversary and repay those who keep on hating me.

4141 If I whet My lightning sword and My hand takes hold on judgment, I will wreak vengeance on My foes and recompense those who hate Me.

4242 'I will make My arrows drunk with blood, And My sword will devour flesh, With the blood of the slain and the captives, From the long-haired leaders of the enemy.'

4242 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

4242 I will make My arrows drunk with blood while My sword devours flesh- the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders."

4242 I'll make my arrows drunk with blood. My sword will devour flesh, along with the blood of the slain, and I'll take their enemy leaders captive.'

4242 I will make My arrows drunk with blood, and My sword shall devour flesh, with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the long-haired heads of the foe.

4343 "Rejoice, O nations, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of His servants, And will render vengeance on His adversaries, And will atone for His land and His people."

4343 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

4343 Rejoice, you nations, over His people, for He will avenge the blood of His servants. He will take vengeance on His adversaries; He will purify His land and His people.

4343 "Sing for joy, nations! Sing for joy, people who belong to him! For he'll avenge the blood of his servants, turn on his adversary, and cleanse both his land and his people."

4343 Rejoice [with] His people, O you nations, for He avenges the blood of His servants, and vengeance He inflicts on His foes and clears guilt from the land of His people.

Moses Is Allowed To See Canaan

4444 Then Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he, with Joshua the son of Nun.

4444 And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

4444 Moses came with Joshua son of Nun and recited all the words of this song in the presence of the people.

4444 So Moses and Nun's son Joshua came and recited all the words of this song while the people were assembled.

4444 And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Hoshea (Joshua) son of Nun.

Moses' Final Instructions

4545 When Moses had finished speaking all these words to all Israel,

4545 And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:

4545 After Moses finished reciting all these words to all Israel,

4545 When Moses had finished addressing all of these words to all Israel,

4545 And when Moses had finished speaking all these words to all Israel,

4646 he said to them, "Take to your heart all the words with which I am warning you today, which you shall command your sons to observe carefully, even all the words of this law.

4646 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

4646 he said to them, "Take to heart all these words I am giving as a warning to you today, so that you may command your children to carefully follow all the words of this law.

4646 he told them, "Take to heart my entire testimony against you today. Command your children to observe carefully every word of this Law,

4646 He said to them, Set your [minds and] hearts on all the words which I command you this day, that you may command them to your children, that they may be watchful to do all the words of this law.

4747 "For it is not an idle word for you; indeed it is your life And by this word you will prolong your days in the land, which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess."

4747 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

4747 For they are not meaningless words to you but they are your life, and by them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess."

4747 because they're not just empty words for you they are your very life. Through these instructions you will live long in the land that you are about to cross over the Jordan River to possess."

4747 For it is not an empty and worthless trifle for you; it is your [very] life. By it you shall live long in the land which you are going over the Jordan to possess.

Instructions Concerning Moses' Death

4848 The LORD spoke to Moses that very same day, saying,

4848 And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,

4848 On that same day the Lord spoke to Moses,

4848 Later that day, the LORD told Moses,

4848 And the Lord said to Moses that same day,

4949 "Go up to this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab opposite Jericho, and look at the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the sons of Israel for a possession.

4949 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:

4949 "Go up Mount Nebo in the Abarim [range] in the land of Moab, across from Jericho, and view the land of Canaan I am giving the Israelites as a possession.

4949 "Ascend this Abarim mountain range toward Mount Nebo in the land of Moab across from Jericho, and look out over the land of Canaan that I'm about to give to the Israelis as a possession.

4949 Get up into this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, opposite Jericho, and look at the land of Canaan which I give to the Israelites for a possession.

5050 "Then die on the mountain where you ascend, and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,

5050 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:

5050 Then you will die on the mountain that you go up, and you will be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people.

5050 You will die on the mountain that you are about to ascend and be taken to be with your ancestors, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was taken to be with his ancestors.

5050 And die on the mountain which you ascend and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,

5151 because you broke faith with Me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah-kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, because you did not treat Me as holy in the midst of the sons of Israel.

5151 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.

5151 For [both of] you broke faith with Me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribath-kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin by failing to treat Me as holy in their presence.

5151 Both of you acted unfaithfully against me among the Israelis at Meribah-kadesh in the desert of Zin, when you failed to uphold my holiness among the Israelis.

5151 Because you broke faith with Me in the midst of the Israelites at the waters of Meribah-kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin and because you did not set Me apart as holy in the midst of the Israelites.

5252 "For you shall see the land at a distance, but you shall not go there, into the land which I am giving the sons of Israel."

5252 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.

5252 Although you will view the land from a distance, which I am giving the Israelites, you will not go there."

5252 You'll see the land from a distance, but you won't be able to enter the land that I am about to give to the Israelis."

5252 For you shall see the land opposite you at a distance, but you shall not go there, into the land which I give the Israelites.
