Ezra 5:12

Temple Restoration Resumed

¹¹ They responded to us in the following way: 'We are servants of the God of heaven and earth. We are rebuilding the temple which was previously built many years ago. A great king of Israel built it and completed it. ¹² But after our ancestors angered the God of heaven, he delivered them into the hands of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this temple and exiled the people to Babylon. ¹³ But in the first year of King Cyrus of Babylon, King Cyrus enacted a decree to rebuild this temple of God.

2 Chronicles 36:16-17

The Lord was furious with Israel and handed them over to robbers who plundered them. He turned them over to their enemies who lived around them. They could not withstand their enemies' attacks.

The Lord turned them over to King Jabin of Canaan, who ruled in Hazor. The general of his army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth Haggoyim.

The Israelites did evil in the Lord's sight, so the Lord turned them over to Midian for seven years.
