A Call For Repentance

²² Return you backsliding children, and I will forgive you for being unfaithful. See, we have come to you because you are Jehovah our God. ²³ “Surely, the hills are a deception,
A tumult on the mountains.
Surely in the Lord our God
Is the salvation of Israel. ²⁴ Ever since we were young, the shameful worship of Baal has taken everything our ancestors worked for, their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters.

Jehovah will save Israel with an everlasting salvation. You will never be put to shame or disgraced, to ages everlasting.

Come here, you refugees from the nations. Ignorant people carry wooden idols and pray to gods that cannot save anyone.

They lift it to their shoulders and carry it. They set it up in its place and there it stands. From that spot it cannot move. Though one cries out to it, it does not answer. It cannot save him from his troubles!

Isaiah 63:1

Who is this coming from Bozrah in Edom with his clothes stained bright red? Who is this dressed in splendor, going forward with great strength? It is I, Jehovah! I am coming to announce my victory. I am powerful enough to save you!

Jeremiah 3:6

During the reign of King Josiah, Jehovah asked me: Did you see what unfaithful Israel did? She went up every high mountain and under every large tree, and she acted like a prostitute there.

Jeremiah 10:14-16

Every man is stupid lacking knowledge. Every goldsmith is put to shame by his idols. His molten images are deceitful. There is no breath in them.
