An Invasion From The North

³⁰ "Something horrible and shocking is going on in the land of Judah: ³¹ The prophets prophesy lies. The priests exercise power by their own authority. And my people love to have it this way. But they will not be able to help you when the time of judgment comes!

They see delusion and their omens are a lie. They say, "the Lord declares," though the Lord has not sent them; yet they expect their word to be confirmed.

Lamentations 1:9

Lamentations 2:14

(Nun) Your prophets saw visions for you that were worthless lies. They failed to expose your sin so as to restore your fortunes. They saw oracles for you that were worthless lies.

Ezekiel 22:14

Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong when I deal with you? I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will do it!

Micah 2:6

Don't preach with such impassioned rhetoric,' they say excitedly. 'These prophets should not preach of such things; we will not be overtaken by humiliation.'

Zephaniah 2:2-3
