1 Take care not to perform your religious duties in public in order to be seen by others; if you do, your Father who is in Heaven has no reward for you.
1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before men (A)to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.

5 And, when you pray, you are not to behave as hypocrites do. They like to pray standing in the Synagogues and at the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. There, I tell you, is their reward!
5 “When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to (E)stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners (d)(F)so that they may be seen by men. (G)Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.

7 When praying, do not repeat the same words over and over again, as is done by the Gentiles, who think that by using many words they will obtain a hearing.
7 “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their (J)many words.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
7 When you pray, don’t babble like the idolaters,(d) since they imagine they’ll be heard for their many words.(E)
7 "When you are praying, don't say meaningless things like the unbelievers do, because they think they will be heard by being so wordy.
13 And take us not into temptation, but deliver us from Evil.'
13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but (Q)deliver us from (f)(R)evil. (g)[For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]

14 For, if you forgive others their offences, your heavenly Father will forgive you also;

16 And, when you fast, do not put on gloomy looks, as hypocrites do who disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. That, I tell you, is their reward!
16 “(U)Whenever you fast, do not put on a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they (j)neglect their appearance so that they will be noticed by men when they are fasting. (V)Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

18 That he may not be seen by men to be fasting, but by his Father who dwells in secret; and his Father, who sees what is secret, will recompense him.

22 The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is unclouded, your whole body will be lit up;
22 “(AB)The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is (k)clear, your whole body will be full of light.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

24 No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate one and love the other, or else he will attach himself to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
24 “(AD)No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and (m)(AE)wealth.
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25 That is why I say to you, Do not be anxious about your life here--what you can get to eat or drink; nor yet about your body-- what you can get to wear. Is not life more than food, and the body than its clothing?

26 Look at the wild birds--they neither sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns; and yet your heavenly Father feeds them! And are not you more precious than they?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

29 Yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his splendor was not robed like one of these.

30 If God so clothes even the grass of the field, which is living to-day and to-morrow will be thrown into the oven, will not he much more clothe you, O men of little faith?
30 But if God so clothes the (AM)grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? (AN)You of little faith!
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
30 If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t He do much more for you—you of little faith?(W)
30 Now if that is the way God clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and thrown into an oven tomorrow, won't he clothe you much better you who have little faith?
31 Do not then ask anxiously 'What can we get to eat?' or 'What can we get to drink?' or 'What can we get to wear?'
31 Do not (AO)worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 All these are the things for which the nations are seeking, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for (AP)your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
32 For the idolaters(p) eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
32 because it is the unbelievers who are eager for all those things. Surely your heavenly Father knows that you need all of them!
33 But first seek his Kingdom and the righteousness that he requires, and then all these things shall be added for you.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
