And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.
And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

But the people of the town were divided, some siding with the Jews and some with the apostles. And when there was a movement on the part of both the heathen and the Jews with the authorities to insult and stone them, and they became aware of it, they made their escape to the Lycaonian towns of Lystra and Derbe and the country around, and there they went on preaching the good news.
