Praise To Yahweh For His Faithfulness In Israel's History

11 Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

11 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

11 Hallelujah! Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.

11 Hallelujah! Give thanks to the LORD, since he is good, for his gracious love exists forever.

11 Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!

22 Who can speak of the mighty deeds of the LORD, Or can show forth all His praise?

22 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?

22 Who can declare the Lord's mighty acts or proclaim all the praise due Him?

22 Who can fully describe the mighty acts of the LORD or proclaim all his praises?

22 Who can put into words and tell the mighty deeds of the Lord? Or who can show forth all the praise [that is due Him]?

33 How blessed are those who keep justice, Who practice righteousness at all times!

33 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

33 How happy are those who uphold justice, who practice righteousness at all times.

33 How happy are those who enforce justice, who live righteously all the time.

33 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who observe justice [treating others fairly] and who do right and are in right standing with God at all times.

44 Remember me, O LORD, in Your favor toward Your people; Visit me with Your salvation,

44 Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

44 Remember me, Lord, when You show favor to Your people. Come to me with Your salvation

44 Remember me, LORD, when you show favor to your people. Visit us with your deliverance,

44 [Earnestly] remember me, O Lord, when You favor Your people! O visit me also when You deliver them, and grant me Your salvation! -- "

55 That I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, That I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, That I may glory with Your inheritance.

55 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

55 so that I may enjoy the prosperity of Your chosen ones, rejoice in the joy of Your nation, and boast about Your heritage.

55 to witness the prosperity of your chosen ones, to rejoice in your nation's joy, to glory in your inheritance.

55 That I may see and share the welfare of Your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, that I may glory with Your heritage.

66 We have sinned like our fathers, We have committed iniquity, we have behaved wickedly.

66 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

66 Both we and our fathers have sinned; we have gone astray and have acted wickedly.

66 We have sinned, along with our ancestors; we have committed iniquity and wickedness.

66 We have sinned, as did also our fathers; we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

77 Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; They did not remember Your abundant kindnesses, But rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.

77 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

77 Our fathers in Egypt did not grasp [the significance of] Your wonderful works or remember Your many acts of faithful love; instead, they rebelled by the sea-the Red Sea.

77 In Egypt, our ancestors neither comprehended your awesome deeds nor remembered your abundant gracious love. Instead, they rebelled beside the sea, the Reed Sea.

77 Our fathers in Egypt understood not nor appreciated Your miracles; they did not [earnestly] remember the multitude of Your mercies nor imprint Your loving-kindness [on their hearts], but they were rebellious and provoked the Lord at the sea, even at the Red Sea.

88 Nevertheless He saved them for the sake of His name, That He might make His power known.

88 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

88 Yet He saved them because of His name, to make His power known.

88 He delivered for the sake of his name, to make his power known.

88 Nevertheless He saved them for His name's sake [to prove the righteousness of the divine character], that He might make His mighty power known.

99 Thus He rebuked the Red Sea and it dried up, And He led them through the deeps, as through the wilderness.

99 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

99 He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; He led them through the depths as through a desert.

99 He shouted at the Reed Sea and it dried up; and led them through the sea as though through a desert.

99 He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it dried up; so He led them through the depths as through a pastureland.

1010 So He saved them from the hand of the one who hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

1010 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

1010 He saved them from the hand of the adversary; He redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

1010 He delivered them from the power of their foe; redeeming them from the power of their enemy.

1010 And He saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the [Egyptian] enemy.

1111 The waters covered their adversaries; Not one of them was left.

1111 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

1111 Water covered their foes; not one of them remained.

1111 The water overwhelmed their enemies, so that not one of them survived.

1111 And the waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left.

1212 Then they believed His words; They sang His praise.

1212 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

1212 Then they believed His promises and sang His praise.

1212 Then they believed his word and sung his praise.

1212 Then [Israel] believed His words [trusting in, relying on them]; they sang His praise.

1313 They quickly forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel,

1313 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

1313 They soon forgot His works and would not wait for His counsel.

1313 But they quickly forgot his deeds and did not wait for his counsel.

1313 But they hastily forgot His works; they did not [earnestly] wait for His plans [to develop] regarding them,

1414 But craved intensely in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert.

1414 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

1414 They were seized with craving in the wilderness and tested God in the desert.

1414 They were overwhelmed with craving in the wilderness, so God tested them in the wasteland.

1414 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted and tried to restrain God [with their insistent desires] in the desert.

1515 So He gave them their request, But sent a wasting disease among them.

1515 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

1515 He gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease among them.

1515 God granted them their request, but sent leanness into their lives.

1515 And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their souls and [thinned their numbers by] disease and death.

1616 When they became envious of Moses in the camp, And of Aaron, the holy one of the LORD,

1616 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.

1616 In the camp they were envious of Moses and of Aaron, the Lord's holy one.

1616 They were envious of Moses in the camp, and of Aaron, the holy one of the LORD.

1616 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron [the high priest], the holy one of the Lord.

1717 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And engulfed the company of Abiram.

1717 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

1717 The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan; it covered the assembly of Abiram.

1717 The earth opened and swallowed Dathan, closing over Abiram's clan.

1717 Therefore the earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and closed over the company of Abiram.

1818 And a fire blazed up in their company; The flame consumed the wicked.

1818 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

1818 Fire blazed throughout their assembly; flames consumed the wicked.

1818 Then a fire burned among their company, a flame that set the wicked ablaze.

1818 And a fire broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

1919 They made a calf in Horeb And worshiped a molten image.

1919 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

1919 At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped the cast metal image.

1919 They fashioned a calf at Horeb and worshipped a carved image.

1919 They made a calf in Horeb and worshiped a molten image.

2020 Thus they exchanged their glory For the image of an ox that eats grass.

2020 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

2020 They exchanged their glory for the image of a grass-eating ox.

2020 They exchanged their glory with the image of a grass-eating bull.

2020 Thus they exchanged Him Who was their Glory for the image of an ox that eats grass [they traded their Honor for the image of a calf]!

2121 They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt,

2121 They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

2121 They forgot God their Savior, who did great things in Egypt,

2121 They forgot God their Savior, who performed great things in Egypt

2121 They forgot God their Savior, Who had done such great things in Egypt,

2222 Wonders in the land of Ham And awesome things by the Red Sea.

2222 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

2222 wonderful works in the land of Ham, awe-inspiring deeds at the Red Sea.

2222 awesome deeds in the land of Ham, astonishing deeds at the Reed Sea.

2222 Wonders and miracles in the land of Ham, dreadful and awesome things at the Red Sea.

2323 Therefore He said that He would destroy them, Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.

2323 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

2323 So He said He would have destroyed them- if Moses His chosen one had not stood before Him in the breach to turn His wrath away from destroying [them].

2323 He would have destroyed them but for Moses, his chosen one, who stood in the breach before him to avert his destructive wrath.

2323 Therefore He said He would destroy them. [And He would have done so] had not Moses, His chosen one, stepped into the breach before Him to turn away His threatening wrath.

2424 Then they despised the pleasant land; They did not believe in His word,

2424 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:

2424 They despised the pleasant land and did not believe His promise.

2424 They rejected the desirable land, and they didn't trust his promise.

2424 Then they spurned and despised the pleasant and desirable land [Canaan]; they believed not His word [neither trusting in, relying on, nor holding to it];

2525 But grumbled in their tents; They did not listen to the voice of the LORD.

2525 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.

2525 They grumbled in their tents and did not listen to the Lord's voice.

2525 They murmured in their tents, and didn't listen to the voice of the LORD.

2525 But they murmured in their tents and hearkened not to the voice of the Lord.

2626 Therefore He swore to them That He would cast them down in the wilderness,

2626 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

2626 So He raised His hand against them [with an oath] that He would make them fall in the desert

2626 So he swore an oath concerning them that he would cause them to die in the wilderness,

2626 Therefore He lifted up His hand [as if taking an oath] against them, that He would cause them to fall in the wilderness,

2727 And that He would cast their seed among the nations And scatter them in the lands.

2727 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

2727 and would disperse their descendants among the nations, scattering them throughout the lands.

2727 to cause their children to perish among the nations and be scattered among many lands.

2727 Cast out their descendants among the nations, and scatter them in the lands [of the earth].

2828 They joined themselves also to Baal-peor, And ate sacrifices offered to the dead.

2828 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

2828 They aligned themselves with Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices offered to lifeless gods.

2828 For they adopted the worship of Baal Peor and ate sacrifices offered to the dead.

2828 They joined themselves also to the [idol] Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices [offered] to the lifeless [gods].

2929 Thus they provoked Him to anger with their deeds, And the plague broke out among them.

2929 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

2929 They provoked the Lord with their deeds, and a plague broke out against them.

2929 They had provoked anger by their deeds, so that a plague broke out against them.

2929 Thus they provoked the Lord to anger with their practices, and a plague broke out among them.

3030 Then Phinehas stood up and interposed, And so the plague was stayed.

3030 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.

3030 But Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was stopped.

3030 But Phinehas intervened and prayed so that the plague was restrained.

3030 Then stood up Phinehas [the priest] and executed judgment, and so the plague was stayed.

3131 And it was reckoned to him for righteousness, To all generations forever.

3131 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

3131 It was credited to him as righteousness throughout all generations to come.

3131 And it was credited to him as a righteous act, from generation to generation to eternity.

3131 And that was credited to him for righteousness (right doing and right standing with God) to all generations forever.

3232 They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of Meribah, So that it went hard with Moses on their account;

3232 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

3232 They angered [the Lord] at the waters of Meribah, and Moses suffered because of them;

3232 They provoked wrath at the waters of Meribah, and Moses suffered on account of them.

3232 They angered the Lord also at the waters of Meribah, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes;

3333 Because they were rebellious against His Spirit, He spoke rashly with his lips.

3333 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

3333 for they embittered his spirit, and he spoke rashly with his lips.

3333 For they rebelled against him, so that he spoke thoughtlessly with his lips.

3333 For they provoked [Moses'] spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips.

3434 They did not destroy the peoples, As the LORD commanded them,

3434 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

3434 They did not destroy the peoples as the Lord had commanded them,

3434 They never destroyed the people, as the LORD had commanded them.

3434 They did not destroy the [heathen] nations as the Lord commanded them,

3535 But they mingled with the nations And learned their practices,

3535 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

3535 but mingled with the nations and adopted their ways.

3535 Instead, they mingled among the nations and learned their ways.

3535 But mingled themselves with the [idolatrous] nations and learned their ways and works

3636 And served their idols, Which became a snare to them.

3636 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

3636 They served their idols, which became a snare to them.

3636 They worshipped their idols, and this became a trap for them.

3636 And served their idols, which were a snare to them.

3737 They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons,

3737 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

3737 They sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons.

3737 They sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons.

3737 Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons

3838 And shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with the blood.

3838 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

3838 They shed innocent blood- the blood of their sons and daughters whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; so the land became polluted with blood.

3838 They shed innocent blood the blood of their sons and daughters whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, thereby polluting the land with blood.

3838 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with their blood.

3939 Thus they became unclean in their practices, And played the harlot in their deeds.

3939 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

3939 They defiled themselves by their actions and prostituted themselves by their deeds.

3939 Therefore, they became unclean because of what they did; they have acted like whores by their evil deeds.

3939 Thus were they defiled by their own works, and they played the harlot and practiced idolatry with their own deeds [of idolatrous rites].

4040 Therefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against His people And He abhorred His inheritance.

4040 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

4040 Therefore the Lord's anger burned against His people, and He abhorred His own inheritance.

4040 The LORD's anger burned against his people, so that he despised his own inheritance.

4040 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against His people, insomuch that He abhorred and rejected His own heritage.

4141 Then He gave them into the hand of the nations, And those who hated them ruled over them.

4141 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

4141 He handed them over to the nations; those who hated them ruled them.

4141 He turned them over to domination by nations where those who hated them ruled over them.

4141 And He gave them into the hands of the [heathen] nations, and they that hated them ruled over them.

4242 Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were subdued under their power.

4242 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

4242 Their enemies oppressed them, and they were subdued under their power.

4242 Their enemies oppressed them, so that they were humiliated by their power.

4242 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under the hand of their foes.

4343 Many times He would deliver them; They, however, were rebellious in their counsel, And so sank down in their iniquity.

4343 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

4343 He rescued them many times, but they continued to rebel deliberately and were beaten down by their sin.

4343 He delivered them many times, but they demonstrated rebellion by their evil plans; therefore they sunk deep in their sins.

4343 Many times did [God] deliver them, but they were rebellious in their counsel and sank low through their iniquity.

4444 Nevertheless He looked upon their distress When He heard their cry;

4444 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

4444 When He heard their cry, He took note of their distress,

4444 Yet when he saw their distress and heard their cries for help,

4444 Nevertheless He regarded their distress when He heard their cry;

4545 And He remembered His covenant for their sake, And relented according to the greatness of His lovingkindness.

4545 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

4545 remembered His covenant with them, and relented according to the abundance of His faithful love.

4545 he remembered his covenant with them, and so relented according to the greatness of his gracious love.

4545 And He [earnestly] remembered for their sake His covenant and relented their sentence of evil [comforting and easing Himself] according to the abundance of His mercy and loving-kindness [when they cried out to Him].

4646 He also made them objects of compassion In the presence of all their captors.

4646 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

4646 He caused them to be pitied before all their captors.

4646 He caused all their captors to show compassion toward them.

4646 He also caused [Israel] to find sympathy among those who had carried them away captive.

4747 Save us, O LORD our God, And gather us from among the nations, To give thanks to Your holy name And glory in Your praise.

4747 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

4747 Save us, Lord our God, and gather us from the nations, so that we may give thanks to Your holy name and rejoice in Your praise.

4747 Deliver us, LORD our God, gather us from among the nations so we may praise your holy name and rejoice in praising you.

4747 Deliver us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name and glory in praising You.

4848 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, "Amen." Praise the LORD!

4848 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.

4848 May the Lord, the God of Israel, be praised from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, "Amen!" Hallelujah! BOOK V (Psalms 107-150)

4848 Blessed are you, LORD God of Israel, from eternity to eternity; Let all the people say, "Amen!" Hallelujah!

4848 Blessed (affectionately and gratefully praised) be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, Amen! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
