A Prayer To God The Rock Of Refuge

1 In you, O Lord, I have put my trust and confidently taken refuge;Let me never be (a)put to shame.

1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

1 (A)In You, O Lord, I have taken refuge;Let me never be ashamed.

1 Lord, I seek refuge in You;let me never be disgraced.(A)

1 In you, LORD, I take refuge; let me never be humiliated.

2 In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;Incline Your ear to me and save me.

2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

2 (B)In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;(C)Incline Your ear to me and save me.

2 In Your justice, rescue and deliver me;listen closely to me and save me.(B)

2 Rescue and deliver me, because you are righteous. Turn your ear to me and save me.

3 Be to me a rock of refuge and a sheltering stronghold to which I may continually come;You have given the commandment to save me,For You are my rock and my fortress.

3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

4 Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked (godless),From the grasp of the unrighteous and ruthless man.

4 Deliver me, my God, from the power of the wicked,from the grasp of the unjust and oppressive.(D)

4 My God, deliver me from the power of the wicked and the grasp of ruthless practicers of evil.

5 For You are my hope;O Lord God, You are my trust and the source of my confidence from my youth.

9 Do not cast me off nor send me away in the time of old age;Do not abandon me when my strength fails and I am weak.

9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

9 Don’t discard me in my old age;as my strength fails, do not abandon me.(J)

9 Don't throw me away when I am old; do not abandon me when my strength fails.

10 For my enemies have spoken against me;Those who watch for my life have consulted together,

10 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,

10 For my enemies talk about me,and those who spy on me plot together,(K)

10 For my enemies talk against me; those who seek to kill me plot together

11 Saying, “God has abandoned him;Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to rescue him.”

11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.

11 Saying, “(U)God has forsaken him;Pursue and seize him, for there is (V)no one to deliver.”

11 saying, “God has abandoned him;chase him and catch him,for there is no one to rescue him.”(L)

11 and say, "God has abandoned him. Run after him and seize him, because there's no deliverer."

12 O God, do not be far from me;O my God, come quickly to help me!

12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.

12 God, do not be far from me;my God, hurry to help me.(M)

12 God, do not be distant from me. My God, come quickly to help me.

13 Let those who attack my life be ashamed and consumed;Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek to injure me.

13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

13 Let those who are adversaries of my soul be (Y)ashamed and consumed;Let them be (Z)covered with reproach and dishonor, who (AA)seek (h)to injure me.

13 May my adversaries be disgraced and destroyed;may those who seek my harmbe covered with disgrace and humiliation.(N)

14 But as for me, I will wait and hope continually,And will praise You yet more and more.

15 My mouth will tell about Your righteousnessand Your salvation all day long,though I cannot sum them up.(P)

15 I will declare your righteousness and your salvation every day, though I do not fully understand what the outcome will be.

16 I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord God [and in His strength];I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.

16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.

16 I will come (AG)with the mighty deeds of the Lord (k)God;I will (AH)make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.

16 I come because of the mighty acts of the Lord God;I will proclaim Your righteousness, Yours alone.(Q)

16 Lord GOD, I will come in the power of your mighty acts, remembering your righteousness yours alone.

17 O God, You have taught me from my youth,And I still declare Your wondrous works and miraculous deeds.

17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.

17 O God, You (AI)have taught me from my youth,And I still (AJ)declare Your wondrous deeds.

17 God, You have taught me from my youth,and I still proclaim Your wonderful works.(R)

17 God, you taught me from my youth, so I am still declaring your awesome deeds.

18 And even when I am old and gray-headed, O God, do not abandon me,Until I declare Your [mighty] strength to this generation,Your power to all who are to come.

18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.

18 And even when I am (AK)old and gray, O God, do not forsake me,Until I (AL)declare Your (l)strength to this generation,Your power to all who are to come.

18 Even when I am old and gray,God, do not abandon me.(S)Then I will(a) proclaim Your powerto another generation,Your strength to all who are to come.(T)

18 Also, when I reach old age and have gray hair, God, do not forsake me, until I have declared your power to this generation and your might to the next one.

19 Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the [height of the] heavens,You who have done great things;O God, who is like You, [who is Your equal]?

19 Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!

19 (m)For Your (AM)righteousness, O God, reaches to the (n)heavens,You who have (AN)done great things;O God, (AO)who is like You?

19 Your righteousness reaches heaven, God,You who have done great things;God, who is like You?(U)

19 Your many righteous deeds, God, are great,

20 You who have shown (b)me many troubles and distressesWill revive and renew me again,And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

20 Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

20 You who have (AP)shown (o)me many troubles and distressesWill (AQ)revive (p)me again,And will bring (q)me up again (AR)from the depths of the earth.

20 You caused me to experiencemany troubles and misfortunes,(V)but You will revive me again.(W)You will bring me up again,even from the depths of the earth.(X)

20 God, who can compare to you, who caused me to experience troubles that were numerous and disastrous? You will return to revive me and lift me up from the depths of the earth.

21 May You increase my greatness (honor)And turn to comfort me.

21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

21 May You increase my (AS)greatnessAnd turn to (AT)comfort me.

21 You will increase my honorand comfort me once again.(Y)

21 You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.

22 I will also praise You with the harp,Your truth and faithfulness, O my God;To You I will sing praises with the lyre,O Holy One of Israel.

23 My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You,And my soul, which You have redeemed.

23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

23 My lips will (AX)shout for joy when I sing praises to You;And my (AY)soul, which You have redeemed.

23 My lips will shout for joywhen I sing praise to Youbecause You have redeemed me.(AA)

24 My tongue also will speak of Your righteousness all day long;For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my injury.
