On the separation of the ten tribes, Judah and Benjamin formed a kingdom under the name of Judah. Benjamin being but a small tribe, the kingdom of Judah is sometimes spoken of as one tribe. Doubtless the territory of Simeon was also attached to Judah

And thou, Bethlehem, city of Judah, art by no means the least among the chiefs of Judah; for out of thee shall come a leader, that shall be a shepherd to my people Israel.
And Jesus answered and said to them: Take heed that no one deceive you. For many will come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and will deceive many. read more. When, therefore, you see that detestable thing that makes desolate, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, (let him that reads understand;) then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; let not him that is on the house-top come down to take his goods out of his house; and let not him that is in the field turn back to take his clothing. But alas for those who are with child, and those who give suck in those days! Pray that your flight may not be in the winter, nor on the Sabbath: for then shall be great affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of the world till now, nor shall ever be. And unless those days should be made few, no flesh could be saved. But on account of the elect those days shall be made few. Then if any one shall say to you: Lo! here is the Christ, or there; believe it not. For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you beforehand. Therefore, if they say to you: Behold, he is in the desert; go not out: Behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning comes out from the east, and shines even to the west, so also shall the coming of the Son of man be. For wherever the carcass is, there will the vultures come together. Immediately after the affliction of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the hosts of the heavens shall be shaken. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the land mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a trumpet of great voice, and they shall gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Learn now a parable from the fig-tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, know that it is near at the doors. Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass away till all these things shall have taken place. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues, and into prisons, after being brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. Therefore, determine in your hearts not to meditate beforehand what you shall answer; for I will give you a mouth, and wisdom, which all your opposers shall not be able to gainsay or withstand. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things that are written may be fulfilled. But alas for them that are with child, and for them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive among all nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
For, finding fault with them, he says: Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will ratify a new covenant for the house of Israel, and for the house of Judah: not like the covenant which I made with their fathers, in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt: because they continued not in my covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. read more. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, says the Lord; putting my laws into their understanding, I will also write them upon their hearts; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people; and they shall not teach, every one his citizen, and every one his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least of them to the greatest; because I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities I will remember no more.
