Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust spoils, and where thieves dig through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust spoils, and where thieves do not dig through nor steal;

And he says to them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of robbers.

In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, Are ye come out as against a robber with swords and sticks to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye did not seize me.

Then are crucified with him two robbers, one on the right hand and one on the left.

And the robbers also who had been crucified with him cast the same reproaches on him.

And he taught saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? but ye have made it a den of robbers.

And Jesus answering said to them, Are ye come out as against a robber, with swords and sticks to take me?

And with him they crucify two robbers, one on his right hand, and one on his left.

And Jesus replying said, A certain man descended from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell into the hands of robbers, who also, having stripped him and inflicted wounds, went away leaving him in a half-dead state.

Which now of these three seems to thee to have been neighbour of him who fell into the hands of the robbers?

saying to them, It is written, My house is a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of robbers.

And Jesus said to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders, who were come against him, Have ye come out as against a robber with swords and sticks?

Verily, verily, I say to you, He that enters not in by the door to the fold of the sheep, but mounts up elsewhere, he is a thief and a robber;

All whoever came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them.

But he said this, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief and had the bag, and carried what was put into it.

in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from my own race, in perils from the nations, in perils in the city, in perils in the desert, in perils on the sea, in perils among false brethren;

for ye know perfectly well yourselves, that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief by night.

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief:

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and keep it and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come upon thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know at what hour I shall come upon thee.

If a man steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it, he shall restore five oxen for the ox, and four sheep for the sheep. If the thief be encountered breaking in, and be smitten so that he die, there shall be no blood-guiltiness for him. read more. If the sun be risen on him, there shall be blood-guiltiness for him; he should have made full restitution: if he had nothing, he would have been sold for his theft. If the stolen thing be actually found alive in his hand, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep, he shall restore double.

They do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry: and if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
