they who have personated me, are all thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not follow them.
I assure you, he that entreth not by the door into the sheep-fold, but climbeth up some other way, is a thief and a robber.

to which Jesus answered, a certain man, as he was going from Jerusalem to Jericho, fell among thieves, who stripp'd him, and beat him, then march'd off leaving him half dead.
Jesus answer'd, verily I tell you, this day thou shalt be with me in paradise.
Lay not up for your selves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.
at the same time he explained himself to them in these words, is it not written, "my house shall be called a house of prayer to all nations?" but ye have made it a harbour for thieves.
let him that stole, steal no more: but rather let him labour, to encrease his fortune with his own hands, that he may have wherewithal to relieve the needy:
"I shall come with surprize, happy he that is upon the watch, and keepeth his garments pure, that his vices may not put him to shame."
if the master of a house knew at what hour the thief would come, no doubt he would be on his guard, and not suffer him to break into his house.
for you very well know, that the day of the Lord steals on like a thief in the night.
take care therefore not to suffer upon the account of homicide, or thievery, or for any criminal, or pragmatical practices.
which now of the three do you think was neighbour to the man that was robb'd.
