When Jesus went into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed, sick with a fever.

Peter made them all go outside. After kneeling down, he prayed, turned to the body, and said, "Tabitha, get up!" She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
He asked them, "But who do you say I am?" "God's Messiah," Peter replied.
Then they arrested him, led him away, and brought him to the high priest's house. But Peter was following at a distance.
He led Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him intently and said, "You are Simon, John's son. You will be called Cephas!" (which is translated "Peter").
The young woman at the gate asked Peter, "You aren't one of this man's disciples, too, are you?" "I am not," he replied.
Then one of the high priest's servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, said, "I saw you in the garden with Jesus, didn't I?"
So the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple wasn't going to die. Yet Jesus didn't say to Peter that he wasn't going to die, but, "If it's my will for him to remain until I come back, how does that concern you?"
While he was holding on to Peter and John, all the people came running to them in what was called "Solomon's Colonnade". They were dumbfounded.
But Peter told him, "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could obtain God's free gift with money!
While Peter was still at a loss to know what the vision he had seen could mean, the men sent by Cornelius asked for Simon's house and went to the gate.
Peter answered him, "Lord, if it's you, order me to come to you on the water."
But Jesus turned and told Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to me, because you are not thinking God's thoughts but human thoughts!"
Then Peter told Jesus, "Lord, it's good that we're here! If you want, I'll set up three shelters one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
