And the son of Shammai was Maon. And Maon was the father of Beth-zur.
She also bore Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea. And Caleb's daughter was Achsah.
These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur. The first-born of Ephratah was Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim;
The fifth, Shephatiah of Abital. The sixth was Ithream by Eglah his wife.
And Solomon's son was Rehoboam, and Abijah his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,
And these were of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash, and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi
And Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. And his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bore him with sorrow.
And Chelub the brother of Shuah fathered Mehir; he was the father of Eshton.
And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah. And the son of Othniel was Hathath.

And the son of Ulam was Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.
And his daughter was Sherah, who built Beth-horon the lower, and the upper, and Uzzen-sherah.
And Rephah was his son, also Resheph, and Telah his son, and Tahan his son,
All these were the sons of Asher, heads of their fathers' house, choice, mighty warriors, heads of the rulers. And their enrollment in the warfare in the battle, their number was twenty-six thousand men.
And at Gibeon lived the father of Gibeon, whose wife's name was Maachah.
And his first-born son was Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Nadab,
And the son of Jonathan was Meribbaal. And Meribbaal fathered Micah.

And Abishai the brother of Joab was chief of the three. For lifting up his spear against three hundred, he killed them, and had a name among the three.
Of the three, he was more honorable than the two for he was their captain. However, he did not attain the first three.

Behold, he was honorable among the thirty, but did not attain the first three. And David set him over his court.

And David was displeased because Jehovah had made a break on Uzza. And he called that place The Breach of Uzza to this day.
And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God to me?
And David saw that Jehovah had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted on high, because of His people Israel.
And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard, and went out against them.
And the Levites chose Heman the son of Joel, and of his brothers, Asaph the son of Berechiah. And from the sons of Merari their brothers, was Ethan the son of Kushaiah.
And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song. He instructed about the song, because he was skillful.
And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites who carried the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers. David also had on him an ephod of linen.
I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. And I will not take My mercy away from him as I took it from him who was before you.
And this was a small thing in Your eyes, O God, for You have also spoken of Your servant's house for a great while to come, and have regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O Jehovah God.
And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army. And Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder.
And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar were the priests. And Shavsha was scribe.
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites. And the sons of David were first ones at the hand of the king.
And Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, and he chose out of all the choice young men of Israel and set in order against the Syrians.
And it was told to David. And he gathered all Israel and passed over Jordan and came on them. And he set in order against them. And David set in order against the Syrians, and they fought with him.
And the servants of Hadarezer saw that they were beaten before Israel, and they made peace with David and became his servants. And Syria was not willing to help the sons of Ammon any more.
And David took the crown of their king from off his head and found its weight a talent of gold. And precious stones were in it. And it was set on David's head, and he also brought exceeding much spoil out of the city.
And there was war again with the Philistines. And Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear was like a weavers' beam.
