Then Herod, seeing that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly enraged; and, having sent forth, he slew all the male children in Bethlehem, and in all its borders, from two years old and under, according to the time which he exactly learned from the wise men.
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
"A voice in Ramah was heard, weeping and great mourning; Rachel, weeping for her children; and she was not willing to be comforted, because they are not."
But, hearing that Archelaus was reigning over Juda instead of his father Herod, he feared to go thither; and, having been divinely warned in a dream, he withdrew into the parts of Galilee;
and, coming, he dwelt in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, "A Nazarene shall He be called."
for this is he that was spoken of by Isaiah, the prophet, saying, 'A voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.'"
And John himself had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey.
but he was hindering Him, saying, "I have need to be immersed by Thee; and dost Thou come to me?"
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness, to he tempted by the Devil.
And, hearing that John was delivered up, He withdrew into Galilee.
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
And Jesus was going about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
"Ye heard that it was said to the ancients, 'You shall not kill; and whosoever kills shall be in danger of the judgment.'
"Ye heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery;'
"And it was said, 'Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement;'
"Again ye heard that it was said to the ancients, You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord your oaths;"
"Ye heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth,'
"Ye heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy;'
But, when fasting, anoint your head, and wash your face,
but I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed as one of these.
and the rain descended, and the streams came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it fell; and great was its fall."
for He was teaching them as One having authority, and not as the scribes.
And, behold, a leper, coming near, was worshiping Him, saying, "Lord, if Thou art willing, Thou art able to cleanse me."
And, stretching forth His hand, He touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; as you believed, be it done to you." And the boy was healed in that hour.
and He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose, and was ministering to Him.
And, when it was evening, they brought to Him many demoniacs; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses."
And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; but He was sleeping.
And He saith to them, "Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?" Then, having arisen, He rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Now there was afar off from them a herd of many swine feeding.
And it came to pass, as He was reclining at table in the house, behold, many tax-collectors and sinners, having come, were reclining with Jesus and His disciples.
While He is speaking these things to them, behold, a ruler, having come to Him, was worshiping Him, saying, "My daughter just now died; but, coming, lay Thy hand upon her, and she shall live."
And Jesus, having risen, was following him, also His disciples.
for she was saying within herself, "If I only touch His garment, I shall be made well."
And Jesus, turning and seeing her, said, "Be of good courage, daughter, your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.
But, when the multitude was put forth, having gone in, He took hold of her hand, and the damsel arose.
And, as Jesus was passing on thence, two blind men followed Him, crying out, and saying, "Have mercy on us, O Son of David!"
and, the demon having been cast oat, the dumb spake. And the multitudes wondered, saying, "Never was it so seen in Israel!"
And Jesus was going about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every infirmity.
And, seeing the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, as sheep having no shepherd.
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Behold, a man gluttonous and a wine-drinker, a friend of tax-collectors and sinners.' And wisdom was justified by her works."
Yea, Father, because so it was well-pleasing before Thee!
But He said to them, "Did ye not read what David did, when he was hungry, and those with him?
how he entered into the house of God, and ate the showbread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but only for the priests?
Then saith He to the man, "Stretch forth your hand." And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole as the other.
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
Then there was brought to Him a demoniac, blind, and dumb; and He healed him, so that the dumb man spake and saw.
For, as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

But he that was sown on the good ground, this is he that hears the word and understands it; who, indeed, bears fruit, and produces, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."
Another parable He set before them, saying, "The Kingdom of Heaven was likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field;
Another parable He spake to them: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like leaven, which a woman, taking, hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened."
All these things Jesus spake to the multitudes in parables; and, without a parable, He was wont to speak nothing to them;
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, "I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world."
which, when it was filled having drawn it up again upon the beach, and sitting down, they gathered the good into vessels, but cast away the bad.

And, departing thence, Jesus came near to the sea of Galilee; and, going up into the mountain, He was sitting there.
He took the seven loaves and the fishes; giving thanks, He broke, and was giving to the disciples; and the disciples to the multitudes.
And they all ate, and were satisfied; and they took up what was over of the pieces seven baskets full;
And Jesus, having come into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, was asking His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that the Son of Man is?"
Then He charged the disciples that they should tell no one that He was the Christ.
and He was transfigured before them; and His face shone as the sun, and His garments became white as the light.
While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And, behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in Whom I delighted; hear Him."
And Jesus rebuked it, and the demon went out of him, and the boy was healed from that hour.
["For the Son of Man came to save that which was lost."]
Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven was likened to a king who wished to make a reckoning with his servants.
And, when he began to reckon, there was brought to him one debtor of ten thousand talents;
The servant, falling down, therefore, was bowing to him, saying, 'Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.'
But, going forth, that servant found one of his fellow-servants, who was owing him a hundred denaries; and, having laid hold of him, he was choking him, saying, 'Pay, if you are owing anything!'
His fellow-servant, falling down, therefore, was entreating him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay you!
And he would not; but, going away, he cast him into prison, till he should pay what was due.
Therefore, his fellow-servants, seeing what was done, were exceedingly grieved; and, going, they made known to their lord all that was done.
But the young man, having heard this saying, went away grieved; for he was one who had large possessions.
"For the Kingdom of Heaven is like to a man who was a householder, who went forth early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard;
And, behold, two blind men, sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried, saying, "Lord, have mercy on us, Thou Son of David!"
Now this has come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,
And, when He entered into Jerusalem, all the city was startled, saying, "Who is this?"
And, when He came into the temple, the high-priests and the elders of the people came to Him while He was teaching, saying, "By what authority art Thou doing these things? And who gave Thee this authority?"
