Therefore, as the congregation is subject unto the Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Judge in yourselves: is it honest that a woman pray unto God uncovered? Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man lets his hair grow, it is dishonest? But if a woman lets her hair grow, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given her for a covering. With all this, if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the congregation of God.

Let the woman learn, becoming silent in all subjection. For I do not allow a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over a mature man, but to be at rest. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. read more.

I desire, therefore, that the men in every place, pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and strife. In like manner also that the women adorn themselves in an honest manner, with shyness and modesty, not with ostentatious hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing but with good works (as becomes women professing godliness). read more.
