We grope like the blind upon the wall, we grope even as one that hath none eyes. We stumble at the noonday, as though it were toward night; in the falling places, like men that are half dead.

But and if thine eye be wicked, then all thy body shall be full of darkness. Wherefore if the light that is in thee, be darkness: how great is that darkness?


Ye fools and blind: whether is greater; the offering, or the altar which sanctifieth the offering?




But he that lacketh these things is blind and gropeth for the way with his hand, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

And he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness; and knoweth not whither he goeth, for darkness hath blinded his eyes.

Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walk in the day he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night he stumbleth, because there is no light in him."

Then Jesus said unto them, "Yet a little while is the light with you: walk while ye have light, lest the darkness come on you. He that walketh in the dark, knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe on the light that ye may be the children of light." These things spake Jesus, and departed, and hid himself from them.

This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other gentiles walk; in vanity of their mind, blinded in their understanding, being strangers from the life which is in God, through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hearts.

And this is the tidings which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and yet walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

Wrest not the law, nor know any person, neither take any reward: for gifts blind the wise and pervert the words of the righteous.

In the night season they search the houses, and hide themselves in the daytime, but will not know the light.

For a wise man beareth his eyes about in his head, but the fool goeth in the darkness. I perceived also that they both had one end.

We know that we are translated from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother, abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother, is a man slayer. And ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
