Abraham came near and said: Will you destroy the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city. Would you also destroy the place and not spare it because the righteous people are there? Surely you would not do that! Jehovah said: If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, I will spare the entire place for their sakes. When you are in trouble (distress) and all these things happen to you in the latter days, turn to Jehovah your God and obey his voice. Jehovah your God is a merciful God. He will not forsake you. He will not destroy you, nor forget the covenant he made with your fathers.
Jehovah says: As when juice is still found in a cluster of grapes and men say, 'Do not destroy it, there is yet some good in it,' so will I do in behalf of my servants; I will not destroy them all. The eyes of Jehovah (God) are upon the righteous. His ears hear their prayers. But the face (person) of Jehovah is against those who do evil.
Remember, the eye of Jehovah is on those who respect him, on those who hope for his loving-kindness. It is on those who deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
Jehovah's eyes watch over righteous people. His ears hear their cry for help.
