The pay is counted to the man who works. It is not as grace but as a debt. He who does not work but believes in him who justifies (absolves) the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

The same applies to you. When you have done all you have been told to do, you say, we are unworthy servants. We have done what we ought to have done.
If it is by grace then it is no longer on the basis of works. Otherwise grace is not grace (undeserved kindness). But if it is of works then it is not by grace. Otherwise works are no longer works. What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks. The chosen ones have obtained it, and the rest were blinded (rendered stupid) (hardened) (made insensitive).
By grace (Greek: charis, divine favor, loving-kindness) you have been saved through faith. It is not from you. It is the gift from God! It is not the result of works. So no man should boast. For we are his workmanship created with Christ Jesus for good works. God prepared these works in advance that we should walk in them.

The reverence of Jehovah is pure. It endures forever. The decisions of Jehovah are true. They are completely fair. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even the drippings from a honeycomb. They warn your servant. There is a great reward in following them.
Loving-kindness belongs to you, O Jehovah. You reward a person based on what he has done.
Adversity pursues sinners. The righteous will be repaid with goodness.
The faithless in heart will be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from above.

Do not worship them or serve them. I, Jehovah your God, am a God demanding exclusive devotion. (I do not tolerate rivals.) I will not share your affection with any other god. I punish children for their parents' sins to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.
Keep in mind that Jehovah your God is the only true God. He is the faithful God. He keeps his promise and is merciful to thousands of generations of those who love him and obey his commandments. He destroys everyone who hates him. He never takes long to pay back anyone who hates him.
Do not rob the poor because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate. Jehovah will plead their cause and take the life of those who rob them.
I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their iniquity. I will also end the arrogance of the proud. I will demean (disgrace) the arrogance of tyranny.
Behold! Jehovah is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will disclose (reveal) the bloodshed upon her. She will conceal her slain no longer.
He will pay them back according to their deeds. He will pay back his opponents with wrath and punish his enemies. He will pay back the people who live on the coastlands.
See, it stands written before me. I will not keep silent but will pay back in full; I will pay it back into their laps both your sins and the sins of your fathers, says Jehovah. This is because they burned sacrifices on the mountains and defied me on the hills. I will measure into their laps the full payment for their former deeds.
Listen to the uproar from the city. Listen to the sound from the temple. It is the sound of Jehovah paying back his enemies as they deserve.
I will not look on you with pity or spare you. I will repay you for your conduct and the detestable practices among you. THEN YOU WILL KNOW THAT I AM JEHOVAH.'
But (my eye will not feel sorry) I will not have compassion or feel sorry. I will do to them what they have done to others.
Concerning those whose hearts go after their detestable things and abominations, I will bring their conduct down on their heads, declares the Lord Jehovah.'
The time for them to be punished will come. The time for them to pay for their sins will come. When this happens, Israel will know it. They think that prophets are fools and that spiritual people are crazy. They have sinned a lot, and are filled with hostility.
At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps. I will punish the men that are satisfied with their wayward lifestyle. They say in their heart, 'Jehovah will not do good and he will not do evil.'
It is a righteous thing for God to repay with affliction (great suffering and distress) those who afflict you.
Pay close attention to the things heard so we do not drift away. If the word spoken through angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward (penalty).
If children, then heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. If indeed we suffer with him we may also be glorified with him. I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us.
If you will obey me and are faithful to the terms of my covenant, then out of all the nations you will be my own special possession, for all the earth is mine.
May Jehovah reward you for what you have done. May you have a full reward from Jehovah the God of Israel, to whom you have come for protection!
Jehovah rewarded me because of my righteousness, because my hands are clean. He paid me back.

If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive what thanks do you have? Even sinners lend to sinners to receive again as much. Love your enemies and do good to them. Look to (consider without distractions) Jesus, the Leader (Predecessor) and Finisher (Perfecter) of our faith. He despised the shame. He endured the stake for the joy that was set before him. Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Yes, and all who would live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
