Evil » What is evil
Come now, ye that say, Today and tomorrow we will go into such a city and continue there a year and buy and sell and get gain; and ye do not know what shall be tomorrow. For what is your life? And the LORD smelled a savour of rest, and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his childhood; neither will I again smite any more every living thing as I have done.
For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters to hew them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who shall know it? I the LORD search the heart; I try the kidneys, even to give each man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.
Certainly the greedy use evil measures: he devises wicked devices to ensnare the simple with lying words and to speak in judgment against the poor.
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Verse Concepts
This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all; and also that the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
There is another evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceeds from the ruler: Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich are seated in a low place. I saw slaves upon horses, and princes walking as slaves upon the earth.

Delight is not suitable for a fool; much less for a slave to have rule over princes.
And Haman told them of the glory of his riches and the multitude of his sons and all the things in which the king had promoted him and how he had advanced him above the princes and slaves of the king.
After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, and advanced him and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.
The wise shall inherit glory; but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
For a slave when he reigns; and a fool when he is filled with bread;
