But the married I charge, not I, but the Lord, Let not a wife separate from her husband, and also if she is separated let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to the husband, and let not a husband leave his wife.

but from the beginning of creation, he made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and the two shall be one flesh; so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.

but on account of fornications, let each man have his wife, and each woman have her husband. Let the husband render to the wife her due, and in like manner also the wife the husband. The wife has not the right to her body, but the husband; and in like manner the husband has not the right to his body, but the wife.

And the Pharisees came to him to try him, and said, Is it lawful [for a man] to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said, Have you not read that the Creator at the beginning made them male and female? and he said, On this account shall a man leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. read more.
So that they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has yoked together, let not man separate. They said to him, Why then did Moses command us to give a bill of divorcement, and put her away? He said to them, Moses, on account of your hardness of heart, allowed you to put away your wives; but from the beginning it was not so. And I tell you, that whoever puts away his wife, except for adultery, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her that is put away, commits adultery.

Know you not that your bodies are Christ's members? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them a harlot's members? by no means. Know you not that he who is joined to a harlot is one body [with her]? For the two, says he, shall be one flesh.

Husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, as Christ also the church; for we are members of his body. read more.
For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

But I wish you to know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman, the man, and the head of Christ, God. Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered disgraces his head. But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered disgraces her head; for it is one and the same as if she was shaved. read more.
For if a woman is not veiled then let her hair be cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off, or to be shaved, let her wear a veil. For a man ought not to cover his head, being an image and glory of God; but the woman is a glory of man. For man is not of woman, but woman of man; for man also was not created because of the woman, but woman because of the man. For this reason ought the woman to have a power [veil] on her head because of the angels. But neither is woman without man, nor man without woman in the Lord; for as the woman is of the man, so also the man is through the woman, but all things are from God.
