And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Forty years long I was grieved with this generation and said, It is a people that err from the heart, who have not known my ways; unto whom I swore in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
Thus hath the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel said: Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwells therein, because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.
But they did not hearken, nor incline their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods. Therefore my fury and my anger was poured forth and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.

And the woman answered unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, Ye shall not eat of it; neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. read more.

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves girdles. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto the man and said unto him, Where art thou? And he replied, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee not to eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate. Then the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I ate. But now Christ is risen from the dead and become the firstfruits of those that slept. For since by a man came death, by a man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in the Christ shall all be made alive. read more.

Then comes the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he has put all things under his feet. But when he says all things are put under him, it is clear that he is excepted, who did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also subject himself unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
