And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou dost eat of it thou shalt surely die.

Thou dost turn unto man until he is broken and thou saith, Become converted, ye sons of Adam.

in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread until thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken, for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for certainly he is flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.

For as in Adam all die, even so in the Christ shall all be made alive.

For it is certain that we die and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither does God respect any person; yet he does devise means that his outcasts not be expelled from him.

For I know that thou dost conduct me unto death and to the house appointed for all living.

For the wages of sin is death, but the grace of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Therefore, in the manner which sin entered into the world by one man, and because of sin, death; and so death passed upon all men in the one in whom all sinned.

But not as the offense, so also is the gift. For if through the offense of that one many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of one man, Jesus the Christ, has abounded unto many. Nor was it in the same manner as by one sin, likewise also the gift; for the judgment truly came of one sin unto condemnation, but grace came of many offenses unto justification. For if by one offense, death reigned because of one man; much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of gifts and of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus the Christ.read more.
Therefore, in the same manner that by the iniquity of one guilt came upon all men unto condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one, grace came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience, many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

And as it is appointed unto men to die once, and after this the judgment;

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive according to that which they have done in the body, good or evil.

For the creatures were subjected to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected them, with the hope that the same creatures shall be delivered from the slavery of corruption into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.

Thou dost cause them to pass by as the waters of a river; they are as a dream, which is strong in the morning like grass. In the morning it blossoms and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers.

As for man, his days are as grass; as an open flower of the field, so he blossoms. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place shall know it no more.

The voice that said, Cry. And I said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the mercy thereof is as the open flower of the field: The grass withers, the flower fades because the spirit of the LORD blows upon it; surely the people is grass.

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away,

and he who is rich, in his low status, because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

Thine hands have formed me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me. Remember now that thou hast formed me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?

If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what does it advantage me, if the dead do not rise? let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.

And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine while they say, let us eat and drink for tomorrow we shall die.

Though his excellency mounts up to the heavens, and his head reaches unto the clouds, yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung; those who have seen him shall say, What is become of him? He shall fly away as a dream and shall not be found: yea, he shall flee away as a vision of the night.read more.
The eye which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place behold him any more. His poor sons shall go forth begging, and their hands shall restore that which he stole. His bones are full of the sins of his youth, which shall be buried with him in the dust.

All those that are fat upon earth shall eat and worship; all those that go down to the dust shall bow before him; and no one can keep his own soul alive.

What man is he that lives and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of Sheol? Selah.

And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

Cause us to learn this that we might number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near:

LORD, make me to know my end and the measure of my days, what it is that I may know how long I am to be of this world. Behold, thou hast made my days as a handbreadth, and my age is as nothing before thee; verily every man that lives is altogether vanity. Selah. Surely man walks in darkness; surely they are disquieted in vain; they heap up riches not knowing who shall gather them.read more.
And now, Lord, what shall I wait for? My hope is in thee. Deliver me from all my rebellions; do not make me the reproach of the foolish.

(For he saith, I have heard thee in an acceptable time, and in the day of saving health I have succoured thee; behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of saving health.)

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

For we now know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold unto subjection by sin. For that which I do, I do not understand, and not even the good that I desire is what I do; but what I hate, that is what I do. If then I do that which I do not desire, I approve that the law is good.read more.
So that it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. And I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwells no good thing; for I have the desire, but I am not able to perform that which is good. For I do not do the good that I desire; but the evil which I do not desire, that I do. And if I do that which I do not desire, I am not working, but sin that dwells in me. So that, desiring to do good, I find this law: evil is natural unto me. For I delight with the law of God with the inward man, but I see another law in my members which rebels against the law of my mind, bringing captive unto the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? The grace of God, by Jesus, the Christ, our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

For I am in a strait between the two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better:

And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall be awakened, some for eternal life, and some for shame and everlasting confusion.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the word that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

He will destroy death forever; and the Lord GOD shall wipe away every tear from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people he shall take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has determined it.

And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up the Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it shall be raised in incorruption; it is sown in dishonour, it shall be raised with glory; it is sown in weakness, it shall be raised with power; it is sown a natural body, it shall be raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened, for we do not desire to be unclothed, but to be clothed upon with life swallowing up that which is mortal.

Jesus said unto her, I AM the resurrection and the life; he that believes in me, though he is dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

And they shall go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the times of the ages, but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has annulled death, and has brought life and incorruption to light through the gospel,

And this is the witness, that God has given eternal life to us, and this life is in his Son. He that has the Son has life; and he that does not have the Son of God does not have life.

And there shall no longer be any cursed thing; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in her; and his slaves shall serve him; and they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no lamp neither light of the sun; for the Lord God shall give them light; and they shall reign for ever and ever.

and the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever; and those that worship the beast and its image and whosoever receives the mark of its name, have no rest day or night.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
